Adorably tiny puppy drifts off to sleep in news anchor’s arms and gets itself adopted
Not even the NHL could resist little princess Bow, but she has that affect on people. 😉🐶

This cute puppy fell asleep during a live show.

Colton Bradford and Melody Mendez were reporting sports updates on the NHL Playoffs with a very cute co-anchor.

Animals from the Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Boston have joined the two reporters to highlight the dogs who are up for adoption.

They are Bow, Jacob, and George.

NBC Boston has been consistently working with ARL Boston to “clear the shelter” and get the rescued animals into their forever homes.

During their broadcast, Colton scooped up Bow into his arms.

Did the puppy protest?

Maybe at first but she quickly became so comfortable in Colton’s arms. In fact, she was so comfortable that her eyelids began to droop.

Or maybe she had been playing with the NBCU Media Center staff so much that it tired her out.

Whatever the reason, she fell asleep in Colton Bradford’s arms.

While Melody continued the report, Colton took a quick peek at Bow. That’s when he noticed she had fallen asleep.

Colton’s jaw dropped and his eyes smiled in excitement.

“OH MY GOD, she’s asleep!” Colton mouthed to his co-workers behind the camera.

As soon as Melody was done with her report, Colton whispered loudly to her to keep her voice down.

“The baby is sleeping,” Colton told Melody.

Melody repeated what he said but with a hushed voice.

They decided to take this opportunity to talk about ARL and the dogs.

“Producer Jeremiah, thank you for letting us take over all this with puppy cuteness,” Melody said.

This clip received more than 100k views on Instagram, 4.1 million views on TikTok, and more than 12 million views on Facebook.

The NHL even reposted the clip, garnering almost 2 million views!

Yes, puppies featured in any video will garner a lot of views. Hopefully, all these millions of views will reach the possible adopters of Bow, and his fellow adoptee dogs, Jacob and George, and the other cats and dogs at the shelter.

The truth is it’s still hard to encourage people to adopt their new pets, instead of buying their furry companion at a pet store or a breeder.

But look at this cuteness!

A lot of people buy because they’re looking for specific breeds that work well for their own family and home situations.

This has not helped with the growing number of homeless and rescued animals on the streets and in shelters and foster homes.

Thankfully, organizations, like the Animal Rescue League of Boston, continue to rescue these animals and find their forever homes.

Getting featured on NBC Boston has also helped because she was adopted quickly after that “sleeping” segment.

Jacob and George were also adopted as well as a few more animals at ARL Boston.

Sometimes, people just need to be reminded that pet adoption is an option for anyone looking for a furry companion.

This time, everyone’s a winner.
