It’s no secret that animals and horses, in particular, love their outside exercise. Unfortunately, a chilly and icy day prevented them from running outside one day, but their owner Alicia decided that they could have their daily exercise indoors instead.

Without hesitation, four adorable tiny horses decided to hold a race inside their stables.

They’re excitingly running lap after lap as if they were real racehorses! The impromptu race in the barn certainly ensures for a ton of fun, both for these small horses as well as their caregivers.

At first, the horses are simply stretching their legs, so to speak, and are running freely in the stables. It’s clear that they’re having the time of their lives, and each horse was also outfitted with a different color so that Alicia could easily keep track of them.

The border collie pup seems to be able to move quite a bit faster than the other four-footers, but the tiny horses don’t seem to mind that much.

The fourth horse seems to be a bit behind but manages to catch up with the rest of the group shortly after. It’s truly something you have to see for yourself, and we’re lucky that Alicia took out her smartphone to capture this amazing footage.

“We’re never getting any work done today,” Alicia laughed while she was filming.

Her friend definitely seems to enjoy this unexpected horse competition as well.

These four horses were being neglected by their previous owner. Luckily, Alicia is now able to provide them with all the love, attention and play buddies they deserve. She mentioned that it was definitely nice to see how far these horses have come ever since they were rescued from their previous home.

With Alicia and her friends, you can absolutely see that these horses are just as happy as they’re excited!

The tiny miniature horses originate from Europe and were first bred a couple of centuries back. They have mostly had an exclusive noble reputation, but the tiny horses have become more common and made their way to other parts of the world as well.

Many families decide to adopt these miniature horses as pets, given their extremely playful and friendly attitude. They’re also absolutely adored by children, and for good reason!

Alicia shared her barn race footage on the internet and it quickly went viral with hundreds of thousands of likes and millions of views.

Viewer Phyllis McMurry Tate recalls his own personal experience with his baby horse Chocolate Chip:

“When my little Chocolate Chip was a baby, we had a terrible snow storm. He was so tiny the snow was up on his chest. So I let him and his mom run around in the barn for exercise. He thought he was a stallion. Rearing up and snorting at the barn cats, jumping back and forth across the threshold of his stall! He was hilarious. Not as big as my dogs!”

“[The] dog is their coach and says ‘Ok team, 10 laps around the stalls,” Linda Jernigan funnily posted.
