All dogs have something special about them. Sometimes, these things are obvious, and other times, they aren’t. One little dog has a very obvious mustache that gets him a lot of attention. His name is Nuts, and he is a two-year-old Griffon who lives in Moscow.
Griffons tend to have some extra fur on their faces, so when Nuts started growing a mustache, his owner, Tatiana, didn’t think much of it.
She just thought it was cute and matched his personality. Even after it got a little long, she just thought it was normal. She explained:
“It became noticeable at his 8 months. I never actually paid attention to his beard until I started receiving comments from my followers on Instagram.”
Nuts’ mustache has become the stuff of legends where he lives.
Every time he and Tatiana go for a walk or go anywhere in public, people stop them and comment on it. Most people can’t believe the little dog has such a big mustache.
A lot of times, they ask to touch it, and that means Nuts get a lot of attention and a lot of petting. His owner doesn’t really mind it, either. She is glad that so many people have taken an interest in her special little dog. She said:
“Almost every day when we walk, we get reactions from random people regarding his appearance and his beard. Kids usually say that he’s a ‘funny dog’ or ‘looks like a grandpa.’ Older people always mention him as a stylish dog, saying something like, ‘Look at the [mustache] and beard he has!’ Some people call him hipster or even Chewbacca.”
Nuts doesn’t know why so many people are interested in his facial hair, and he doesn’t care.
Tatiana wants everyone to know that there is more to Nuts than what meets the eye. He might have a big mustache, but he has a big personality to match it. She added:
“When I lay on my bed, he jumps up, lays on his back beside me and puts his head on a pillow just like a real human.”
She said he is also very smart. She also said he is a great companion and a lot of fun. His big mustache is just the icing on the cake. When he looks at her with his big brown eyes, she can’t help but melt. She said:
“He reacts to words ‘Wanna go bathing?’ as if I said, ‘Wanna treat?’ — gets overly excited every time.”
As for his mustache, though it isn’t a big deal to Nuts or Tatiana, she still tried to keep it looking nice for all his fans.
She explained:
“We used to trim his beard short before, as I thought that it was too long and made him look older than he actually was. Now we just trim him a couple times a year and let the beard be. There’s no special treatment for his beard — it just grows as it is.”
It seems like everyone just can’t get enough of Nuts and his mustache.
Tatiana even made him an Instagram page, so all his fans can see his adventures. He has plenty of them, too. He likes to do all the things normal dogs do – go for walks, play ball, look out the window at birds, and, of course, get plenty of snuggles.
No matter what he decides to do, he is always adorable when he does it.
Tatiana and Nuts have a lot of fun together, and this little Griffon really knows how to enjoy life. Would Nuts be as famous without that mustache? Tatiana thinks so. She thinks that Nuts is just a photogenic pup with a great personality and a friendly face. That mustache sure is cute, though.
