Sometimes when you are watching the animals at the zoo, they are watching you as well. It’s not uncommon for zoo animals to take an interest in the humans that are there to see them. That’s exactly what happened to a pregnant woman recently when a tiger became totally infatuated with her baby bump!
Natasha and her friends went to the zoo.
At the time of their trip, Natasha happened to be 27 weeks pregnant. A tiger at the zoo became very interested in Natasha, possibly because she was with child at the time. The tiger certainly seemed as though they wanted to nuzzle her baby bump.
“We all realized that the tiger was very interested in her baby bump,” said Brittany Smith-Osborne, one of Natasha’s friends said to FOX 26.
The tiger seemed to want to get as close to Natasha as possible.
Video of this encounter has gone viral. It begins with Natasha taking a selfie while the tiger is in the background, clearly enamoured with the pregnant woman.
“I don’t know whether to laugh or be scared,” one of Natasha’s friends can be heard saying in the video. “That is so crazy.”
“I want to pet him,” said another friend.
The friends decided to test the theory that the tiger was infatuated with her baby bump.
“Do you think it knows your pregnant?” said one of the girls. “Do you think it’s after you because you’re with a baby?”
The group figured that the tiger was likely drawn to Natasha because she was pregnant. So, they decided to test this theory. Natasha stood up on the glass and pressed out her baby bump. Sure enough, the tiger nuzzled the glass right where her baby bump had been positioned and tried to get as much of a smell of Natasha as they could through the glass.
“Awwwwwwww,” Natasha said.
Why was this tiger so infatuated with Natasha?
This is anyone’s guess. There is some evidence that house cats are able to sense when a human is pregnant so tigers might be able to as well. Perhaps this tiger had never been around a pregnant human before and was intrigued. Maybe the tiger just appreciates the gift of nature that is reproduction.
On the other hand, maybe the tiger was hungry and thought a pregnant woman would make a nice snack. The only thing we know for sure about Natasha’s interaction with the tiger is that it was adorable.
Interaction between Natasha and the tiger has been viewed online millions of times.
The Daily Mail posted footage of the interaction to their YouTube channel. It has been viewed over 1.1 million times as of this writing.
“I am so excited that I was able to capture that sweet moment,” Smith-Osborne said of the video she took.
Many people who have viewed the video have felt compelled to leave a comment on it as well.
“Animals can sense the waves of a forming baby inside a womb. That’s why the tiger acted that way. Just thought you might wanna know,” wrote one viewer.
“Tiger: damn! That’s a lot of meat , wish I could ….
People : aww that’s so cute , tiger’s so gentle with a pregnant woman,” wrote another.
