Ten tiny stray kittens are all alone in the world—and then they see woman walking toward them
Who could do such a thing?

When Bree Taylor was walking her dog through her hometown in southeast Queensland, she came across an unexpected surprise hidden away in the bushes.

Heart-breakingly, there were ten abandoned kittens who had been left by themselves to die, and they didn’t appear to have a mom.

At first, Bree considered the idea that the kittens could have been born from a wild cat, as they seemed pretty streetwise and were openly curious about her dog, Koda. But as soon as she noticed how hungry they looked, she began to realize that the situation was a lot more serious than she’d first thought.

“Honestly I thought they were little ferals coming out to attack my puppy and sort of stood back ‘cause I thought mumma cat was going to come out,” Bree explained. “But they came right up, so I sat on the ground and they were purring and really hungry.

Bree knew that she had to help, and as the kittens seemed to be getting on well with her dog, there was no issue in bringing them home with her. But how she was going to bring them home, was another question.

As there were ten kittens, it was going to be impossible to physically move them herself. So Bree set off home, in the hopes that the little kittens would follow her – and they did.

“I couldn’t carry them all so I started walking home and they all followed me about a kilometre,” Bree recalled.

The kittens followed Bree all the way home, and the smallest ended up being carried in Bree’s arms when it got tired. Thanks to Bree, four of the kittens have already been rehomed- but it was incredibly lucky that she had come across them and decided to help. If she hadn’t, the kittens might have met a different fate.

“I was disgusted that someone had just dumped them,” Bree said. “If you can’t afford to desex your cat, or look after and find homes for kittens don’t own a cat. Don’t dump them on the road after they are already reliant on humans — it’s cruelty.”

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. There’s absolutely no excuse for dumping helpless baby animals out on the streets, and we hope that the person responsible was found and prosecuted for what they did.

Bree first shared her story onto Facebook, including some adorable pictures of the kittens, and captured it:

“Weirder things have happened 😂 all of these tiny kittens came out of the grass this morning when I was walking my dog. Would reckon someone dumped them. No joke followed me all the way home.
So who wants a new cat ?”
