“I think he felt that he was a father,” Flores said.
Sometimes, us humans can put certain animals into ‘boxes.’ We think of certain animals as ‘good’ and certain ones as ‘bad.’
But often, things aren’t quite as simple as that.

Stereotypes are born, and the misinformation spreads. This happens with other humans all the time and can cause some severe issues. More than just other humans, animals are often the victims of these stereotypes.
Dogs often get pegged as always having certain behaviors because of misinformation.
Pit bulls are a great example of a dog breed that is harmed because of false presumptions. Dogster, in good fashion, says:
“No other dog has had so much media coverage in the last 15 years as the Pit Bull. It’s tough not to be emotional one way or the other about these canines, especially if you’ve owned one or two or three, or if you or a loved one has been involved in a bad incident involving a Pit Bull.”
They even put together a great list, 10 Misconceptions about Pitbulls. Detailed within are things that show that many “incidents” are not even pit bull breeds!
This lovable pit bull wonderfully disproves the belief that “all pit bulls are aggressive.”

Meet Hades. More than his name may insinuate, Hades is no dog out of hell and only has one head, not three.
He has a story that will hopefully show people that every dog breed has a way to handle them, and they all deserve love.
Hades shows us that it’s the inside that counts, not the outside.

Some may just look and see a rough and muscular exterior and assume that this is a mean dog. They would be wrong! We will see how Hades and his owner, Juan Jose P. Flores, were able to be kind to a historic “nemesis” of dogs.
In Mexico, where the two live, there is a stray cat who has been showing up to their house for quite some time.
Having a kind heart, Flores would often leave food and water out for the stray. No wonder it kept coming back!
We never know who is watching, however, and Flores’ actions didn’t go unnoticed in the home. Hades decided to act like his owner one day.

Flores heard a knocking on the back door where Hades usually hangs out.
He went to check and make sure everything was okay. As he walked over, he realized that Hades was causing a commotion.
He told The Dodo:
“He was desperate and making a lot of noise.”
As Flores went outside to see what was going on, he was pleasantly surprised by what was happening!

Hades had gone out of his way! The stray cat had shown up again, and Hades had decided to give her his doghouse to stay in!
However, something more significant was going on that Flores would soon discover.
Upon closer inspection, Flores found out that the stray cat was pregnant!

Hades must have known the cat needed some help. Dogs always have had a sense of that sort of thing. Seeing the cat was in trouble, Hades had volunteered his doghouse and bed for the cat.
“He dragged a blanket over to the entrance of his house and settled outside the door,” Flores said. “She felt protected by him.”
As the cat gave birth, Hades was close by, watching, and protecting. While Hades kept an eye on things, the stray gave birth to two kittens.
After some rest time, Flores moves the whole family inside. He also decided to name the cat Nicol! Hades and Nicol were inseparable.
Flores plans to give away the two kittens, but Nicol is now a permanent part of the family. Hades is always looking out for his new friend, and the two are besties for life. Flores got a firsthand experience with how loving his pup could be.
A great anecdote for disproving pit myths.
