The life of a stray dog is challenging. This is particularly true for sick stray dogs.
These poor dogs have no one to care for them, no one take to them to the vet, no one to pet them and tell them it will be okay. All these poor dogs can do is lay down and hope they feel better eventually.
This was the case for a poor stray dog in India.
This young street dog was both starving and suffering from a severe case of mange, a skin disease caused by parasitic mites.
With no source of food or shelter, this dog was curled up in a ball on the side of a road, ready to completely give up on life. But as fate would have it, a group of angels came to save the day, and they provided the love and care he so desperately needed.
In the video below, the team at Animal Aid Unlimited, India drives by the street dog and immediately stops to lend a hand.
The poor dog is lying completely still on the side of the road, and it’s clear he’s given up on ever feeling better. The rescuers knew they couldn’t let the go one more day without treatment, so they used a net to quickly catch him.
They brought the dog back to their organization’s shelter, and from the get-go, it was obvious that the dog had not been touched or in contact with humans for a very long time.
The dog was absolutely exhausted and never bothered to move from his curled-up position. He barely had enough energy to eat the biscuit that the rescuers gave him.
Still, the rescuers didn’t give up on him. And eventually, the dog let the rescuers pet him.
With consistent treatment, care, and most importantly, love, the dog was able to recover and in 10 days, his skin was healed.
The pup already looked so much better after just a few days, but he still needed more treatment to completely heal. And luckily, the rescuers were up for the task.
Two months later, the pup looked like a completely different dog.
The dog’s fur had grown back and he had way more energy. He was also very friendly and loved spending time with the shelter workers and the other dogs. It’s truly hard to believe this is the same dog. He looks so good!
This incredible video earned over 34 million views. People were so touched by the way the rescuers helped this dog.
