Dogs always seem to be there when you need them most. From the good times to the bad, owning a dog really is like having a caring best friend.
While dogs are typically comforting when it comes to their owners – some even go out of their way to help comfort strangers. One theater audience witnessed this up close when a stray interrupted the performance for the most heartwarming reason.
Numan Ertuğrul Uzunsoy is a Turkish actor, and also the main focus of a video that’s going viral.
The video takes place at an outdoor theater performance that Uzunsoy was part of. During a scene, his injured character falls off of his horse and is unable to move from the ground.
Little did Uzunsoy know, the people in the crowd weren’t the only ones watching what was going on…
A hero comes to “save the day.”
In the video, Uzunsoy lays on the ground for several moments. Then, out of nowhere, a stray black dog comes walking onto their stage and heads over to the “injured” man.
Uzunsoy is of course only pretending to be hurt, but the dog doesn’t know that!
The sweet dog’s tail is wagging and it immediately begins sniffing Uzunsoy.
According to the actor, he was clueless at first that it was a dog by his side. In an interview with The Dodo, he explained:
“I felt warmth on my face. First, I thought my costar was approaching me.”
He gets quite a loving surprise.
The concerned dog lays its head down on Uzunsoy, seeming to want to provide him comfort. Going from the big smile on the actor’s face, it’s obvious he realizes it’s not his costar giving him extra love! He immediately puts his hand on the dog as it plops down next to him.
This dog wasn’t going anywhere.
Other actors from the play come to help with the whole “stray dog situation.” But from the looks of it, the pooch is happy just where he’s at, laying on and comforting the injured stranger.
It’s a scene that’s warmed a lot of hearts.
Uzunsoy wasn’t upset that the dog interrupted the performance, but was instead “touched” by its actions. He told The Dodo:
“I was very happy when I felt the dog’s kisses. I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it.”
The other actors adored the little pooch too, and the surprising moment had audience members clapping in delight. After all, it’s not every day you see something like this!
Uzunsoy is hoping to reunite with the dog who tried to comfort him.
As we know, the show must go on, which is what happened after the stray dog was escorted off stage. Turns out, it stayed around for a little while, then walked off.
Uzunsoy would like to locate the pup so he can help find it a home. He’s not going to give up either – as he wants to repay the sweet animal for its kindness!
“The next day I went to the same place, looking for him. People told me he usually hangs out there. I went again today. I’ll look for him until I find him. I’ve always loved animals.”
