Stray dog loses his cool when he spots officer. Chases cop down street

Since as far back as we can go, there has always been a connection between humans and dogs. Over time, we’ve developed a bond with these animals that can even be greater than human-to-human connection.

Dogs are also known for being a good judge of character. It’s been said that dogs can sense when someone is a good or a bad person. In this adorable story, a sweet stray puppy definitely sensed a good person in front of them.

Officers Mercado and Tavera of the LAPD Hollywood division were out on patrol in October of 2019 when they spotted a tiny puppy.

The adorable tiny puppy was left wandering the streets of Hollywood, seemingly abandoned by its mother or the dog owner.

As the officers were walking along Hobart Boulevard, the puppy clearly sensed that the two officers were kind and helpful people. That’s when the puppy decided he was going to follow them down the street!

Officers Mercado and Tavera take their job of protection very seriously – that includes dogs. So, they took him back to the station.

Naming him Hobart, after the street he was found on, the police department shared their fluffy on Twitter.

The officers weren’t exactly sure where Hobart was from or why he was wandering the streets. They were confident, however, that the poor thing was abandoned and not just lost. They worked with a rescue group to find him a forever home.

His owner was unable to care for him any longer and was attempting to give him up, we took him in and he has since been given to @ghettorescue to be put up for adoption!

The sweet and grateful pup was definitely happy to be safe. And it was becoming more and more obvious that he LOVED being around Officer Mercado. He was going to initially hand Hobart over to the shelter and rescue group, but people on Twitter insisted that the two were meant for each other.

Finally, Officer Mercado realized that the two were truly meant to be. So, he officially adopted Hobart.

It’s no surprise that Hobart’s life with Officer Mercardo has been nothing short of blissful.

The shelter posted an update:

“Update on Hobart (GRFF name Fidzgit) he’s the most loving and lively puppy. He loves all of his puppy cousins and will chew on his toys for hours. He’s still learning potty training and loves the outdoors/play time in the grass!” reported his dad.
