There are some lessons you just need to experience for yourself.
Students from a rural school in Turkey were lucky enough to witness a biology lesson and a life lesson through a special encounter.
It all started with a stray cat.
The children were having their usual lesson when the cat entered the classroom.
It seems that the stray has been around for a while and that it was comfortable around the kids and the teacher.
Their teacher saw the cat come in but didn’t think too much of it at first.
They discussed the lesson that day when the teacher noticed something about the cat.
He didn’t specify what he saw but only explained that he knew something was happening.
The cat, who perched herself by the window sill, began going into labor.
The teacher rushed to get a bag and some rags to help the cat give birth.
The teacher carefully waited for the kittens to come out and was ready to catch them with a small bag.
The kids stood outside and on the other side of the window to not crowd the cat while watching this valuable lesson.
They pressed their faces against the glass to see how the entire process took place.
The mother cat gave birth to two healthy kittens.
Or at least that’s what the teacher thought.
He carefully placed the kittens beside their mother so she could clean them.
But when he was not looking, another kitten emerged from its mother’s womb.
The kids were excited to see how the kittens experience the world for the first time.
These cats would’ve been removed from the premises if they were in a different country.
But not this cat family.
The cat family has since become the class’ pets.
The children continue their lessons with the kittens running and rolling on their tables.
The kittens get no rest from the tons of affection they get every day.
Their mother dotes on them regularly.
When she’s resting or the cats are not with her, the entire class dotes on the kittens.
Turkey has always had a special relationship with stray cats.
Some say that this fondness can be traced back to the era of the Ottoman Empire.
Cats are encouraged to roam in the streets to protect communities from rats and other pests.
That affinity carried on to the modern ages. In fact, the stray cats in Istanbul even have their own social media accounts.
People all over the internet expressed their appreciation for the class’s treatment of the cats.
“That gentleman is a wonderful teacher, an example to all educators. Lucky students, lucky kitties,” one commenter said.
“There is nothing better for learning love and compassion than caring for a kitten,” said another.
And true enough, these kittens are good companions and teachers who educate the kids on the importance of looking after other living things.
Watch how this class learned an important life lesson thanks to a stray cat.
