There is nothing stronger than a mother’s love for her child. This statement spans across species; if you’re human, covered in fur, feathers or scales, all moms will do anything to protect their babies. A cat named Dongsuk is living proof of that.
Dongsuk was a stray cat and would regularly seek shelter and a bit of food from a regular spot in the neighborhood. A woman noticed Dongsuk and decided to start feeding her. What she didn’t know at the time, was Dongsuk’s true motive for visiting her.
The woman noticed that if the food were put out on a plate, the cat would completely ignore it. If she put the food in a bag, however, she would grab it and run away.
The woman was no stranger to feeding local strays in the area. However, she’d go out of her way to make sure that she made a special little package — just for Dongsuk. She wasn’t entirely sure why the adorable orange cat would only accept food in a plastic baggie; perhaps she was possessive about her food, or maybe it was for another reason.
The woman’s curiosity began to get the best of her, so she decided to follow the friendly cat one day. After trotting away with the little bag of food, the woman followed Dongsuk down the road. It wasn’t long before she realized the real reason behind the cat’s funny behavior.
The woman followed Dongsuk and found that she was bringing the food back to her lone surviving kitten.
Dongsuk had apparently given birth to a litter of five kittens. However, only one remained. She became very protective over her baby kitten. It just so happened that the two of them were practically twins with the very same bright orange fur.
The stunned woman watched as Dongsuk lovingly opened up the bag of food, letting her baby eat first. It was obvious that Dongsuk was a very loving and compassionate mom. It touched the woman’s heart so deeply that she knew she had to do something.
Along with some help, the woman was able to gently capture Dongsuk and her precious kitten. Both of them were brought to their new home where they both had a warm, comfortable place to finally relax together. They have a new cat house, lots of toys, and, of course, they’ll never have to worry about going hungry.
