Is there anything dogs can’t do? We didn’t think so. From rescue dogs to service dogs, there are few areas in our lives that dogs haven’t impacted significantly. What’s even better is that the whole time they are working, they make the best and most loving friends around!
One dog had a hilarious incident while helping her owner around the house.
Service dogs come in many shapes and sizes, but their primary purpose remains the same: helping their owners live easier lives. One of the most famous service dogs is known as “seeing-eye” dogs! They are basically the eyes for people who have a visual impairment or are blind. Crossing the street would be an impossible task if it wasn’t for seeing-eye dogs!
While those are the most famous type of service dogs, there are many more.
One woman caught her own dog on video while she was getting some help around the house, and the result is hilarious! The sweet girl isn’t a seeing-eye dog, but she does help her owner a ton! We can see just how helpful she is when her owner asks her for some basic things.
Her owner asks her to get some items from around the house and she does it instantly.
Watching this lovable golden retriever help her owner puts all our dogs to shame! Ours look like little punks compared to how gentle and intelligent the golden is. When her owner asks her for the tv remote, she instantly obliges and grabs it from the table. We can also see in the corner of the screen the walker that her owner uses, so we can assume that the sweet golden helps with things that would require mobility on her owner’s part!
After the remote, she goes to get the blanket!
What makes this so much more than a glorified game of fetch is that the dog can understand and identify each item! When her owner asks for a specific item, she grabs the right one without a hiccup – well, most of the time!
The hilarious moment happens when her owner asks her to go get her water bottle from the fridge.
After that blanket, slippers, and tv remote, the owner is almost ready for some TV! The only thing she needs is her water bottle. Pointing the camera at her furry friend, she asks for her bottle from the fridge. The golden retriever trots over, opens the fridge, and comes back to her with a bottle!
The problem is that it’s not her water bottle!
Instead of bringing back her water bottle, she brought back a bottle of ranch! It looks like there are some limits to a dog’s understanding of certain objects! The owner can’t help but laugh when the pup looks so satisfied in bringing back the bottle of ranch!
Thankfully, there are always second chances.
After the ranch debacle, Jaquie, the owner, asks again.
“I’m thirsty, can you get my water bottle?”
The second time around, we see a happy pup come trotting back to the couch, water bottle in hand (or mouth?). At least Jaquie has a snack while she is watching television!
