One should never separate a mother from her baby, especially for animals.

Baby animals depend on their mother for sustenance, grooming, and protection.

Without their mothers, they’d become easy prey in the open and wouldn’t survive on their own for a long time – unless an animal was made to be that way.

But there are circumstances when a young animal should be separated from their mother.

Mostly, the baby animals need to be separated from their mother if their lives are on the line.

It could be due to sickness or a natural calamity.

Ultimately, what matters most is to reunite them as soon as possible.

What people loved about it was the reaction of the creatures upon seeing each other.

It was like a few days or weeks were too long and unbearable not seeing each other, but it also was no time at all seeing how they still remembered each other.

The sloths were separated due to a forest fire in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

A series of forest fires at that time affected four nature reserves in the area, including three protected areas.

Firefighters, volunteers, and residents worked together to try and put out the fire as soon as possible, but the winds blowing 56 miles per hour spread it even faster, causing sixteen major forest fire alerts.

The government declared a state of emergency and forced the evacuation of all living animals in the area.

Creatures living in the bushland and trees in the area had to be moved to a nearby town, including the mother and child sloth.

Since everything was happening too fast, they couldn’t track if some animals were evacuated safely.

Thankfully, one person went above and beyond to reunite mother and child.

Veterinarian Marco Greminger learned about a baby sloth found in a nearby town.

It was crying, and the people suspected it fell from his mother’s arms when local dogs barked at them during the evacuation.

By fate, Marco found a mother sloth hiding on top of a tree.

He thought this might be the mother of the crying baby sloth, and there was only one way to find out. They placed the baby sloth nearby to see how the mama sloth on the tree would react, and her reaction left no doubt.

The two approached each other and instantly hugged and kissed each other, and it was the most tender, genuine loving moment you’ll ever witness. The kind veterinarian wrote in his post.

“A mother’s heart is the most beautiful place for a child. In all the space of the Universe, there is only one like this,” he beautifully penned those words referring to a mother’s great love for her child.

Marco took the took to the clinic to ensure the overall health of the pair.

He made thorough checkups and evaluations and returned them to their usual strength before releasing them to the nearby Chuchini nature reserve.

The mother and baby sloth are back in their natural habitat and, most importantly, in each other’s arms.
