Although house hippos are nonexistent, we can’t deny that they are cute. And the idea of having them is thrilling.

Turns out, it’s possible to have a pet that looks exactly like them.

They’re hairless guinea pigs (aka “skinny pigs).

They are born with no hair but they are oozing with cuteness. On social media, it’s very easy to find photos of them, especially on Instagram.

Many skinny pig owners love to post photos of them and apparently, they bring delight to thousands of people.

They’re born with different colors. Some of the skinny pigs are black while there also some that come in white and pink. Regardless of their color, they are all adorable.

Here’s Judith

Isn’t she lovely?

Now here’s Rue who had a great time visiting the house plants.

This one is an 8-week-old female skinny pig.

She looks fragile and everything about her is just loveable.

These are just examples of these rodents and they are undoubtedly popular. A lot of people are also interested to have them.

You would see many skinny pigs that are up for sale and the price ranges from $99 to $200.

It’s just amazing to know that it’s not difficult to find them.

Hopefully, though, those people who would decide to own a skinny pig would be ready to take care of them with genuine love.

But how do we maintain them? According to the White House Farm Center, skinny pigs should be kept in a warm environment. Since these creatures have no hair to keep them cozy, putting them in an environment that’s 75-80 ℉ would be the way to keep them warm.

They also eat about three times a day – which can help them produce body heat.

Their attitude will make you love them more.

If you compare them with regular guinea pigs, they are usually more affable. What’s more amazing is they have a good temperament.

You should also expect that they are curious rodents.
