Sheepdogs are some of the cleverest and most hardworking types of dogs. These dogs are usually referred to as livestock guardian dogs and they are bred specifically to help farmers to organize livestock and protect them from potential predators.

In one particular farm, one sheepdog had done his job a little too well.

Somewhere down in Devon, England, there is a farmhouse that holds a herd of sheep. Its guardian was a smart and obedient sheepdog named Rocky. He is a seven months old Border Collie puppy and he executes his job in shepherding flawlessly. Except for one day, when Rocky decided to do his job a little bit too much.

One morning, Rocky invited a herd of sheep back into his owner’s farmhouse. He was able to let at least nine sheep follow him into the open field gate, then into the house. His owner, Rosalyn Edward, was working in their kitchen when she heard strange noises.

When she checked to see what was going on, Rosalyn was shocked when she saw the sheep trying to make themselves fit inside the tight room.

“I was in the kitchen and heard a noise,” Rosalyn told The Telegraph. “I turned around and the sheep were just standing there. There were about nine of them.”

The sheep were not great houseguests.

Rosalyn recorded the hilarious sight that she had just witnessed but the problem was the aftermath. The sheep freely welcomed themselves inside the house and they just ignored proper guest etiquettes as they made themselves comfortable. Too comfortable as well, since they had no hesitation in pooping and weeing everywhere. In addition to that, the sheep brought mud to their feet and painted their dirty footmarks on the floor. The family had no choice but to clean it all up.

Rosalyn and her family eventually led the sheep back out where they belong.

Rosalyn admitted that it took them quite some time to clean all the mess that the sheep left at their house. She also had to take her kids to the other room first before she and her husband shooed the herd of sheep away from the room.

After some time, the sheep were already back in the fields where they strutted in peace. Rosalyn shared the clip on Facebook and gave it a witty caption, saying:

“Rocky the sheepdog, brought a whole new meaning to ‘bringing the sheep home!’”

The adorable Rocky was just proud of what he did, not realizing that he gave his owner quite a hard time. Although, it is easy to forgive a cute dog like him. Besides, he just did his job as a proper shepherd. There’s nothing wrong about that.

You would never be disappointed with a shepherd dog.

After giving a sheepdog-bred pup some proper training, they will be the most reliable, hardworking shepherds in the field.

They can maintain a great relationship with the livestock as well as keeping them safe and sound all of the time. Outside of shepherding, they could be your cuddly best friend at home too!

Sheepdogs like Collies, Malinois, and Briards are perfect pets for a family.
