Disneyland is known as the ‘happiest place on Earth,’ and almost everyone who goes to the park leaves with a smile. Disneyland is full of fun rides, cute characters, and unique attractions that have tons of amazing details.
It turns out, it’s not just humans who love Disneyland. A group of service dogs in training recently took a field trip to the land of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and they absolutely loved it!
These pups are members of Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a non-profit organization in California that trains and places service dogs. During their training, the dogs learn tons of useful skills, including socialization skills. To help improve the dogs’ socialization skills, CCI often takes the pups on field trips.
Kendra Clark, who organized the trip, explained to The Dodo why she chose Disneyland for the dogs’ field trip:
“Disneyland is the perfect place to socialize our puppies to crowds, loud noises, different sights and smells, and different kinds of people.”
From the first moment the dogs walked into Disneyland, people started coming up to them. Everyone loved the extra bit of magic these dogs brought to Disneyland!
While the dogs were there for work, they were able to have some fun too. Wearing their Mickey Ears, the dogs went for rides together on magical teacups.
The dogs also got to meet some of their favorite characters. One dog was all smiles as he posed with Chip and Dale…
…and another dog couldn’t contain their excitement when they got to meet their idol, Winnie the Pooh!
“Seeing how happy they got when they met the characters sure was a treat!” Clark said. “The characters were almost as excited as the dogs were to say hello!”
Throughout the day, many people at Disneyland took photos of the cute group of dogs. One woman posted a photo of her encounter with the service dogs on Twitter. The Tweet quickly went viral, getting over 250,000 likes and 100,000 retweets.

After the Tweet went viral, other people who had met the dogs shared their own sweet photos of the pups.

Kendra Clark is thrilled that the trip went so well. She told The Dodo:
“As puppy raisers, part of our job is educating the public about service dogs and Canine Companions’ mission,” Clark said. “So it was really wonderful that the crowds were not only incredibly interested in our service pups in training, but also so respectful of the fact that they were working.”
These six great dogs had an amazing day out at Disneyland—they were able to improve their socialization skills and have fun too. With these dogs there, Disneyland truly is the happiest place on Earth!
