Dogs. Life would be incomplete without them. They are our best friends, perfect cuddle partners, and great playmates. While those are their fun titles many dogs have actual job titles. Dogs are not only great additions to households, they are working heroes too. Most people know about police dogs or service dogs for the blind and diabetic but there are so many more jobs they can hold. Dogs are just like us when it comes to the workplace, except way more adorable while working.

1. Graduation
A service dog was given an honorary master’s degree during a graduation ceremony. He attended every class with his owner, so it was only fair. This good boy dressed perfectly for the occasion, even a cap to go with his gown.
2. Work Hero
This adorable little puppy in training, named Brooks, was able to meet his work hero, Dutch. Hopefully Dutch gave Brooks a bunch of tips to help during his training. What a fun day at work for Brooks!
3. Doggy Buddies
Meet Hoshi and Zen. Hoshi is on the left and is blind. Zen is on the right and is Hoshi’s guide dog. More importantly, Zen and Hoshi are best friends. Zen keeps Hoshi safe at all times. He might be smaller but he is helpful!
4. Buzz Buzz Buzz
This dog has been trained for a very precise job. He can sniff out diseased beehives. He can smell certain bacterias that are harmful for the hives. This dog is helping save the bees, which is helping save our food supply!
5. Rescue To Rescuer
Jake was rescued by a firehouse when he was three weeks old. His firefighter rescuer decided to adopt the adorable pit and also award him as an honorary firefighter. Jake goes to local schools to help teach children fire safety. What a great teacher.
6. All Dressed Up
The perks of being a service dog for a member of the military is the military ball. This good boy is named Axel and he is all decked out in finest attire for the occasion. Jason has the best date at this military ball, who could compete with this cuteness?
7. Just Keep Swimming
These working dogs put in a lot of physical work at their day job. They are leading their herd of cattle out of the current flood zone they have found themselves in. The dogs led their cattle to higher and safer ground.
8. The Truffle Dog
The average black truffle that is found in Oregon is between one and two ounces. Rhu, a trained truffle dog, found a seven ounce black truffle. That is one productive day at work, great job Rhu.
9. Double Duty
Georgia is a service dog at a veterinarian’s office. So, she is already doing good work, but she thought one job was not enough. Georgia was pregnant in this photo and was giving birth to a litter of future service dogs. Talk about double duty.
10. Self Taught
Just like humans, some dogs learn how to work when they are already on the job. This rescue pit bull lives with his grandma who has Parkinson’s disease. He, without training, will lay on the part of her body that is suffering from tremors. On this night he laid on her feet for over an hour until she fell asleep.

Piper worked at the Cherry Capital Airport as Wildlife Control. His job sounds like a dream job for most dogs. He was in charge of patrolling the runways and taxiways for wildlife. Basically, he was able to run after birds and other wildlife all day long to keep them away. A dogs dream job.

Dakota is always ready to alert her owner if her blood sugar is too high or too low. Dakota is not only adorable but she is a life saver.

Herding dogs have been trained for thousands of years. Yes, thousands of years. This is one of dogs original trained jobs. One family decided to have a bit of fun and dressed up their animals for a fun Christmas card. The dog is not letting his hat get in the way, he has a job to do.

“I was laughing and my dog thought I was hyperventilating and got me my emergency inhaler. Thanks pal? LOL.”

Sledding dogs are one of the original dog jobs. There have been trained sledding dogs for thousands of years. This hard working and beautiful girl was on a break when this photo was taken. She was leading 10 other dogs and one human for the entire day.

These dogs have a dangerous job as explosive detectors. They deserve a retirement party, especially when it is a double retirement, after the dangerous career they had. The two labradors in the middle were retiring and their two guests were their new replacements.

An Ikea employee could not help themselves when they saw this cutie pie service dog. They gave the service dog a gift of her own, a stuffed panda bear. Good girls deserve all the surprise presents.

Tucker does not spend his days at the winery just for fun, he is also working. Tucker keeps the deer away from the vineyards. The owners believe that Tucker saves the winery about $10,000 a year. This doggy deserves a big bonus!

Meet Elvis. Elvis might have the most unique doggy job. Elvis is a polar baby pregnancy detector. By sniffing polar bear poop Elvis can determine if they are pregnant. He has a 97% accuracy rate, very impressive!

Bonzo has run his last sled run. His owner wanted to give him a shout out and stated,
“This is my retired sled dog Bonzo. He has 10,000 plus miles under is collar in MT, CO, and AK. This is him on his last sled run a year ago. Give it up for my boy Bonzo.”

When people see Hunter coming their way they can finally breath a sigh of relief. That is because Hunter is a search and rescue dog. He helps find people that are lost, just like this guy.

River was at his training facility when this picture was taken. He is getting trained to be a service dog to an autistic teenager. Once River is done training, the two are off to college together.
