Zara the rottweiler has always been vocal.
It kind of took his little human sister Gia by surprise when she first heard his howl.
“She just looked and just watch and was like, ‘What is this big thing doing?'” their mom Stacey told The Dodo.
When Zara, who is now 5, sounded her deep bellow Gia, who is now 2, looked like she was about to cry but was also in total awe at the same time.
Zara instantly took to Gia when she was born.
“She just knew that Gia was the new member of the pack and she just knows to protect her,” mom says.
Not only have Zara and Gia grown up together like sisters but they’re also best friends.
“A key turning point in their relationship was when Gia started eating food and when she started walking,” Stacey explains.
That’s because Gia could walk over to Zara and give her some of her snacks.
Gia loves to share. She even shares her toys with Zara.
Unfortunately, rottweilers might get a bad reputation for being aggressive.
“The rottweiler breed is wonderful, loving, and friendly. They make great companions and perfect family dogs. However, they are often misunderstood and when poorly trained and mistreated can display the negative behaviors that they are unfortunately more well known for,” My Pet Needs That.com explains.
But that’s not at all the case with Zara.
“Zara was just naturally gental,” Stacey says. “Gia’s first word was pup so I think that says a lot. It just happened so naturally. They just want to be together all the time.”
Zara and Gia love doing pretty much all of their activities together, including singing.
“With the singing, it just happened. We bought Gia a stand-up microphone for Christmas. Every time Gia starts singing, well, she’s not really singing. Zara just starts howling and she can’t contain herself,” Stacey says.
And the two end up competing for whose going to be in the spotlight and be the center of everyone’s attention.
But Gia doesn’t like it very much when Zara starts howling over her singing.
“Stop puppy,” she’ll tell her.
But Zara doesn’t.
She goes on singing anyway.
“I’m still trying to work out who’s the lead because at the moment they kind of fight for that top spot. Zara loves the limelight and I think so does Gia,” Stacey says.
But that’s just how they play.
“The two of them are like two peas in a pod. She has fun. She sings with her. They throw ball, they swim, we go for afternoon walks. I’m excited to see how their relationship blossoms, how it changes and grows and evolves,” Stacey says.
Now the two of them share the spotlight on TikTok where they have more than 23,400 likes and almost 5,000 followers. Check out these two cuties have a sing-a-long in the video below.
