Rosie was a tiny, helpless kitten, found on the streets of San Jose at only 2 weeks old. The kind humans that found her did their very best to save the little baby— but things weren’t looking good.
“The first night we got Rosie, she seemed OK but then her health went downhill all of a sudden,” Rosie’s humans told Express UK.
“She rejected food and wouldn’t lift her head anymore.”
As the hours passed trying to get Rosie to take milk from a bottle, and everyone had nearly given up hope —Lilo the Siberian Husky stepped up to the plate.
Lilo was recovering from a surgery and wearing a cone, but still, the loving pup welcomed the lonely kitten into her fur for some much-needed cuddles and warmth.
“By some miracle, Rosie started trying to suckle on Lilo and cried out for food!” Lilo’s humans wrote.
“We were stunned by the effect Lilo had on Rosie and immediately gave Rosie a bottle. She drank every drop and nestled into Lilo’s fur to sleep.”
All it took was Lilo’s warm, Husky cuddles, and Rosie started coming back to life!
“Rosie’s health improved dramatically thanks to Lilo, who has raised her as one of her own,” the pair’s humans said.
Eventually, Rosie ate more food and became stronger and healthier every day. With Lilo by her side, the kitten was well on her way to a full recovery.
“She’s so tiny but she tries to keep up with the other Huskies, bless her. She runs after them when they play, she wrestles with her mother Lilo, and walks with the pack when her little legs can manage.”
“Rosie looked to Lilo for guidance as a mother and mentor,” the humans wrote. “Putting all her trust in Lilo, Rosie would follow her to the ends of the Earth.”
Being raised by loving Huskies, Rosie may actually think she’s a dog.
But as long as she’s happy and healthy, Rosie can think whatever she’d like!
Though Lilo and Rosie are unlikely partners in crime, their bond is truly unbreakable. Lilo literally saved Rosie’s life, and they’ll be BFFs forever.
Rosie and Lilo’s humans say, “If everyone loved the way Lilo & Rosie did, there would be no evil in this world.”
