Rodeo clowns are not just performers who engage with bulls; they are also masters of comic relief.
They have a passion for keeping the audience entertained, and nobody embodies this spirit better than Rodeo clown JJ Harrison.
One night, Harrison delivered a performance that had everyone in stitches.
The highlight?
He ‘stole’ a police car!
Yes, you read that right. Harrison ‘stole’ a police car, much to the amusement of the crowd.
The performance kicked off with Harrison beaming with pride.
He was boasting about his ‘theft’ of the police car and how he managed to pull it off, much like a criminal would brag to his gang.
The crowd was in splits, thoroughly enjoying his antics.
As he checked the name of the officer to whom the car was assigned, he realized it was Sergeant Brad O’Neil, the same policeman he had an amusing encounter with a few days prior.
He had managed to embarrass the officer by making him dance in the rodeo.
Not many can claim to have done that to a cop!
However, Harrison knew he was in for trouble.
Picking on the same man twice meant he was going to face a very angry officer.
To counter this, he hired Franz as his security detail.
Franz, known for his expertise, came prepared with a thick suit and a barrel.
Just as Harrison was taunting the officer, saying that he wouldn’t be able to do anything because of Franz, the unexpected happened.
A police dog came to the sergeant’s rescue, much to Harrison’s surprise.
The dog swiftly ran towards Franz and took him down with a single bite to the arm.
The canine was so fast and strong that Franz was helpless.
In a blink of an eye, he was on the floor.
Harrison had to take refuge inside the barrel to keep himself safe.
Thankfully, Sergeant O’Neil commanded the dog to stop after a few seconds.
Despite all the antics being part of Harrison’s performance, it was incredibly entertaining to watch.
It felt so real at the beginning that the crowd was thoroughly amused.
They certainly got their money’s worth that night.
Harrison is known for putting his heart and soul into his craft.
He once shared, “My job is not to be the show, you got to be like salt. A little bit of you and you make it better, too much of you and they’re going to have to throw it out.”
These wise words reflect his deep understanding of his craft.
Unlike other entertainers who crave the spotlight, Harrison understands the need for balance and harmony in each act.
Harrison, a former middle school teacher, found his true calling in entertainment.
He said, “What set in with me was when my act that I was trying to do would fall apart, I would just ad lib and that’s where I just realized that this is my forte. Ad lib comedy is better for me, make it relevant to the crowd, I’ve had a lot of success with that.”
He has been performing for some time now and has earned the reputation of being one of the best entertainers in pro rodeo.
He wouldn’t trade this life for anything else.
“The call of rodeo is constant, it’s such a great sport and way of life that it drew me back in,” Harrison said.
His story is a lesson for all: If you feel there’s more for you out there, go for it.
