From rescuing dogs from their current conditions to paying vet bills and temporarily housing them, there’s so much work that goes into saving a pup’s life.
These 35 lucky puppies are all safe and sound, saved from a potentially bleak future by good samaritans. They’re on their way to good homes (or just got to theirs) and now have delightfully full bellies and are baring them with bravado.
Take a look at these and tell us if there’s anything better than a #puppybelly.
1. Basil’s belly
Don’t you wish you could just lay back and relax like this after a big meal?
She’s even got her ball nearby in case she wakes up ready to play.
2. Foster in food
And, of course, they fill those little puppy bellies so they never have to go hungry again.
Captain fell asleep right in his food!
3. Praise bellies!
This furry foster pup is clearly living the good life after being rescued.
We wonder what she’s dreaming about with her paws up like that.
4. Pooped puppy
Maybe he’s dreaming about the better days ahead.
Just look at that nice, full belly!
5. Little Lizette
Lizette was just a day old when she had her photo snapped during a quick nap.
This home normally fosters kittens, but this pup is about the same size and probably fit right in!
6. Broken baby
Luckily, a volunteer was happy to take on her emergency case and is making sure she gets better quickly.
She’s enjoying a lounge-around after a big milk meal in this pic.
7. Tum’s up
She’s 50% Husky 50% Pomeranian, making her a Pomsky!
And she’s 100% adorable.
8. Batch of bellies
It must be so hard to walk past them and not take them all home.
Then again, maybe someone did. Some people have big enough homes and hearts to make it happen.
9. Playful puppy
Their foster human was pretty sad to see he and his brother go up for adoption.
But if you keep them all, you can’t save more.
10. Gimme those rubs
She’s begging for some belly rubs and it looks like she found the perfect fur-ever home with people who will take good care of her.
Little girl had a rough start in life coming from a very bad home- but she is safe now and getting all the belly rubs! from r/PuppyBellies
11. Belly-up
Thank goodness he found a foster willing to sit and relax alongside him after a big, satisfying meal.
12. Adorable adoptee
Who wouldn’t after getting to snuggle with this creature?
Luckily, she was adopted into a loving home where she settled in immediately just like she deserves.
13. 2-lb tummy
But we have no doubt this little spitfire will find a home that will fill her belly so she can run off all that energy a moment later.
14. Tombo’s tummy
But his recent adoption bodes well for that. He’s not going to go hungry again.
15. Sleepy sweetheart
It was clearly a long day for this little one, who went belly up in an attempt to still be cute enough to adopt but still get some rest.

16. Tummy terrors
And who could resist this cuteness?

17. Twin tummies
Fig and Fern were clearly having a great time – and getting good care – with their foster mom and dog!
Mom raised them (and bottle-fed them!) from just 2 days old.
It was emotional to let them go, but they found a loving fur-ever home.

18. Puppy paunch
He’s clearly napping off a nice snack before he gets up to play with his favorite stuffed toy.
Don’t you just want to snuggle him?
19. Tummy trio
But in the meantime, they were in good hands and look like they don’t have a care in the world.
They already have love to keep them warm.

20. Cutie pooch
This belly was given a home not long after the photo was posted.

21. Paws out, claws out
That’s no surprise since he’s as cute as can be.
We bet he’s getting all the belly rubs he can handle.
22. Hungry baby
It’s hard to fit TWO meals in one tiny belly.
But he did it anyway. So now it’s time for a nice loooong nap.
23. Flatlay
Just returning home from the vet with his new parents, he’s pretty pooped.
And we can tell by that lovely doggie bed that he’s in a nice home like he deserves.
24. Fluffy belly
Luckily for this little girl, she’s got someone to help care for her and socialize her so she can be a great companion someday.
Since this photo was taken a while ago, we can only hope the rescue found her a loving home to grow up in.
25. Those eyes, that belly!
Normally, this foster mom takes care of kittens, but it looks like she made one adorable exception.
And the good news is this pup will be cat-friendly by the time it’s out of foster care!
26. Teefer tummy
He’s a little pittie, so we sure hope someone took him in.
27. Pile of pups
But it hardly matters since the subject of this photo is one full and fluffy tummy.
This baby girl has got it made!
28. 12-week tummy
We have the feeling that belly is going to be full AND get lots of rubs.
29. Tuckered out tummy
He’s safe and sound in his rescue and has no idea about the life he could have had if not for some big-hearted animal-lovers – and that’s how it should be!
That’s quite a food coma he’s got going there! Think he might be dizzy when he gets up?
Nah.
30. Mellow belly
After a nice meal, this babe is enjoying the wonders of nature AND the safety of a temporary home where there’s lots of love.
31. Chins and bellies
Doesn’t it at least make you want to volunteer at a shelter?
This photo is an old one, so we like to imagine she’s now a big, fluffy dog running around on a nice, big farm.
32. Roly poly
After this picture went up on Facebook, he had lots of offers for fostering. No surprises there!
33. Foster fella
It sounds like their foster mama worked at a vet clinic since this is a photo of them at work with her to get their vaccines.
There’s going to be a lot more sleeping after that, no doubt.
34. Full frontal belly
But animals have nothing to hide.
It looks like this fella has a bit of an ouchie on his paw. We hope his meal and nap helps him heal up fast!
35. Belly and bear
He even had a teddy bear standing by in case of emergency snuggles.
We’d be tempted to wake him up for our OWN snuggle sesh.
It’s devastating to think of all the puppies out there who don’t share the same fate. But there will always be animal-lovers doing the best they can – and for that we’re grateful.
Thank you, rescuers, foster parents, and adopters!
Remember, adopt don’t shop. And be sure to spay and neuter your pets so that we can cut down on the number of unwanted animals.
