Basil was born to a litter of 10(!) puppies and was residing at Hope Animal Rescue in Durham, North Carolina.

Don’t you wish you could just lay back and relax like this after a big meal?

She’s even got her ball nearby in case she wakes up ready to play.

Foster families are so important to animal rescues. They take in future pets so they don’t have to live in kennels and get to know them so they can tell future families what to expect.

And, of course, they fill those little puppy bellies so they never have to go hungry again.

This furry foster pup is clearly living the good life after being rescued.

We wonder what she’s dreaming about with her paws up like that.

This chihuahua-terrier mix is catching some zzzs waiting to find his forever home.

Maybe he’s dreaming about the better days ahead.

Tiniest belly ever!

Lizette was just a day old when she had her photo snapped during a quick nap.

This home normally fosters kittens, but this pup is about the same size and probably fit right in!

This puppy’s humans stepped on her and broke her leg and she was still healing when she was rescued.

Luckily, a volunteer was happy to take on her emergency case and is making sure she gets better quickly.

Bella is a rescue dog living the good life.

She’s 50% Husky 50% Pomeranian, making her a Pomsky!

And she’s 100% adorable.

These siblings are the sweetest!

It must be so hard to walk past them and not take them all home.

Then again, maybe someone did. Some people have big enough homes and hearts to make it happen.

This little one has a nice full #puppybelly but is ready for playtime instead of naptime.

Their foster human was pretty sad to see he and his brother go up for adoption.

But if you keep them all, you can’t save more.

It’s hard to believe that anyone could mistreat a puppy, but we’re glad to see she’s still capable of having some fun.

She’s begging for some belly rubs and it looks like she found the perfect fur-ever home with people who will take good care of her.

We don’t even need to see this furball’s face to know we’d love to rub that belly.

Thank goodness he found a foster willing to sit and relax alongside him after a big, satisfying meal.

We weren’t shocked to hear that this little girl’s foster parent fell madly in love with her.

Who wouldn’t after getting to snuggle with this creature?

Luckily, she was adopted into a loving home where she settled in immediately just like she deserves.

This poor cutie had to wait a bit longer to be adopted because she had a parasite that needed treatment.

But we have no doubt this little spitfire will find a home that will fill her belly so she can run off all that energy a moment later.

It looks like Tombo is going to need a few more meals to get that swollen puppy belly we’ve come to know and love.

But his recent adoption bodes well for that. He’s not going to go hungry again.

Strutting your stuff for potential new parents can be exhausting, even for a pup with plenty of energy.

It was clearly a long day for this little one, who went belly up in an attempt to still be cute enough to adopt but still get some rest.

This little German Shepherd rescue isn’t going anywhere until she gets her belly rubs.

And who could resist this cuteness?

Fig and Fern were clearly having a great time – and getting good care – with their foster mom and dog!

Mom raised them (and bottle-fed them!) from just 2 days old.

It was emotional to let them go, but they found a loving fur-ever home.

Noland is quite the picturesque foster puppy.

We can only assume the Houston SPCA had no trouble getting these three adopted.

But in the meantime, they were in good hands and look like they don’t have a care in the world.

They already have love to keep them warm.

This sweet girl’s photo was posted a few years back and inquiries came in immediately.

This belly was given a home not long after the photo was posted.

Doc and his siblings were taken to a shelter together and it looks like he’s been adopted now.

That’s no surprise since he’s as cute as can be.

We bet he’s getting all the belly rubs he can handle.

Ruh roh. We think we know why this puppy has a swollen belly.

It’s hard to fit TWO meals in one tiny belly.

But he did it anyway. So now it’s time for a nice loooong nap.

This pup looks like a fancy flatlay with the toy by its side.

Just returning home from the vet with his new parents, he’s pretty pooped.

And we can tell by that lovely doggie bed that he’s in a nice home like he deserves.

It’s hard to see puppies so young already homeless because someone didn’t spay or neuter their pet. But this is the result.

Luckily for this little girl, she’s got someone to help care for her and socialize her so she can be a great companion someday.

Since this photo was taken a while ago, we can only hope the rescue found her a loving home to grow up in.

Tummy rubs must be pretty common for this cutie.

Normally, this foster mom takes care of kittens, but it looks like she made one adorable exception.

And the good news is this pup will be cat-friendly by the time it’s out of foster care!

Teefers, tooters – whatever you want to call them we can’t stop smiling at this pup’s grin.

He’s a little pittie, so we sure hope someone took him in.

This is another person who normally fosters kittens, so we’re not sure how many of these flufsters are dogs.

But it hardly matters since the subject of this photo is one full and fluffy tummy.

This baby girl has got it made!

This 3-month-old baby is going home! He’s got a new dad lined up who already looks pretty darn excited to have him around.

We have the feeling that belly is going to be full AND get lots of rubs.

Ah, the life of a newborn puppy.

He’s safe and sound in his rescue and has no idea about the life he could have had if not for some big-hearted animal-lovers – and that’s how it should be!

That’s quite a food coma he’s got going there! Think he might be dizzy when he gets up?

This cutie is on day 3 of being fostered with its siblings and mom, all named after Simpsons characters (Marge, Bart, and Lisa)!

After a nice meal, this babe is enjoying the wonders of nature AND the safety of a temporary home where there’s lots of love.

If you’re going to give a belly rub, you might as well see if a chin rub is in order, especially if you have the privilege of caring for a sweetie like this.

Doesn’t it at least make you want to volunteer at a shelter?

Sleepy puppies are the best kind!

It sounds like their foster mama worked at a vet clinic since this is a photo of them at work with her to get their vaccines.

There’s going to be a lot more sleeping after that, no doubt.

The thing about puppy bellies is you end up seeing a lot more than a stomach!

But animals have nothing to hide.

It looks like this fella has a bit of an ouchie on his paw. We hope his meal and nap helps him heal up fast!

It looks like Chester is getting the love he needs at his rescue in this old photo.

He even had a teddy bear standing by in case of emergency snuggles.

We’d be tempted to wake him up for our OWN snuggle sesh.
