One December evening, a janitor was cleaning up his school’s hallways, getting the place ready for the students who would arrive the next morning. As he worked, he heard a knock on the school’s front door. He glanced out the window and saw a little boy quickly running away from the school. Confused, he went to the front door and unlocked it.
When he opened the door, he found a puppy sitting in a cardboard box.
The janitor also saw that there was a note attached to the box. It said:
“Sorry it didn’t have a home and it was cold so we were going to give it to you. Please do let it go find a nice home.”
The janitor was touched by the note, and he quickly contacted a teacher who was known for being a dog lover. The teacher agreed to take the pup home with her home. She named the puppy Snowflake.
The teacher wasn’t able to keep Snowflake, but she wanted to make sure that the dog went to the perfect forever home.
She contacted local animal rescue group Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, and they agreed to take in the tiny puppy. They picked up Snowflake from the teacher’s house and brought her over to a veterinarian, where she got a check-up and vaccinations. Then, Detroit Pit Crew took her to their shelter and began searching for the right home for her.
Snowflake was adopted by her new owners on December 21, 2017, just in time for Christmas!

Snowflake loves her new owners and her big sister. She’s doing great, and it’s all thanks to a little boy who wanted a better life for her.
We may never learn the name of the little boy who left the dog, but one thing’s for sure: he’s a true hero. Thanks to his selfless actions, little Snowflake is now in a wonderful forever home with owners who love her. To learn more about Snowflake, check out the video below.
