We want to include as many family members as we can when we go on vacations – pets included. It’d be nice to take a break and enjoy some downtime. Pets would appreciate that, too.
But a vacation wouldn’t be so relaxing at all when something goes wrong. It could be any untoward incident to you and your family.
Sonora Breault and her family went to Los Angeles for a much-needed vacation, but that vacation turned into a horrible nightmare when her dog Oreo went missing.
Oreo is missing!
Sonora and the rest of the Breault family went on a vacation that turned into their worst nightmare. They brought with them an 8-month-old English bulldog named Oreo. He had fun running along the beach one day.
But all that fun turned dark and tragic when Sonora visited her friend on 83rd Street and Figueroa Street. Sonora said she saw her friend take Oreo to the car, but she came back to Sonora and asked her, “Where’s Oreo?” and realized her beloved dog was missing.
The gift of Oreo
You could only imagine the panic that struck Sonora at that time, but we bet she felt more of it knowing how much he meant to her.
Oreo was her late boyfriend’s gift to her, and she considered the loving pet her “missing piece.” Her boyfriend died from a car crash months after giving him to her. She considered Oreo as her last piece of connection to her departed lover.
Oreo’s unique features and special needs
According to Sonora, it won’t be difficult to identify Oro since he has very distinct spots and features. His nose has pink spots on them, and he has a double “cherry eye” (or an inflamed third eyelid on both his eyes).
But what concerned Sonora and her family were Oreo’s health needs. He has breathing problems and has many allergies to food. She was worried that whoever got him might not feed him properly and cause his untimely demise.
“I just want him back.”
Sonora and his father went around to look for him, but they failed. They decided to put up posters of their missing pet and just go home and wait for any news.
“I feel horrible leaving, but I can’t stay here and get depressed, and nobody’s helping me,” she told CBS News. “I’m just hoping someone can come forward and do the right thing.”
The family had no plans to press charges against whoever took him away. They were only hoping that somebody would find and return him safe and sound.
They also offered a cash reward to those who could help them get Oreo back. If you spot a dog in your area that looks like Oreo or has any helpful information regarding his whereabouts, please contact Sonora Breault at (530) 340-3625.
