When all the world seems black and smokey, a little bit of innocent life is often a breath of fresh air. The little puppy that was found was like a cool breeze to the hardworking men and women.

Due to the apparent situations, the fighters decided to name the little pup Trooper.

Trooper seemed a fitting name for the little dog that survived in the rubble of a building through an inferno.

“These last several days have been hard on our entire county and we thought we would share a positive story today,” the Butte County Sheriff’s Office

That little puppy was just what the team needed.

The team found Trooper in the worst of circumstances.

Trooper was found by a search and rescue team as they swept a certain area. After fires like this, these teams move into an area and methodically clear it, making sure nobody is still alive in the rubble. In one of these sweeps, they found Trooper.

The dog was found in Berry Creek, California.

When the team found the little dog buried in the rubble, it was a huge moment of joy. Describing it as an “unexpected and welcome” discovery, it inspired the team to continue on their search for survivors.

Trooper was safe now, but not unscathed.

When they found the dog, it was buried in the rubble of a building and had some burns and scrapes across its body. They immediately took him to Valley Oaks Veterinary Venter to get the treatment he needed. The rubble that he was pulled out of seemed to be some charred vehicle that the dog was left him.

The reason that Trooper was left was revealed with some investigation.

When the authorities finished sweeping the property, they discovered that the owners had a few dogs. When they call to immediately evacuate came, the family had trouble locating each one of their pets and had to leave some of them behind.

“After doing some investigating, we found out that the owner of the property has several dogs and was not able to locate them all before needing to evacuate,”

Currently, 4 million acres have been burned by the wildfires and are creating incredibly hazardous breathing conditions for everyone on the West Coast. Like Trooper, more people are to be pulled from the rubble to make something of what remains.
