When we were kids, we were always desperate to make new friends and find new playmates. The same goes for baby animals, as they also want to enjoy their younger days with others. Just look at this puppy trying to make friends with a newborn calf.

This veterinary hospital has a hardworking puppy who greets people and animals with a smile.

In Heartland Animal Hospital and Vet Services, a veterinary hospital based in Ontario, Canada, there lives a small Labrador puppy named Tucker. Tucker is the hospital’s sweetest staff member, and his job is to greet their customers with his gentle face and friendly attitude.

Moreover, he helps the other staff welcome newborn animals. Most of the Heartland staff call him Dr. Tucker, and though the pup was given these endearing responsibilities, Tucker could still enjoy his puppyhood as much as he could.

This pup was excited to see a new member of the family.

One day, Tucker’s human mom was working at the hospital, helping a cow give birth to a calf. Tucker was of course there to give her mom the adorable support she needed. After some time, the vet finally extracted the young calf out of its mother. They cleaned the little calf and then left it to rest at a clean stable. The little Dr. Tucker went into the stable to check on the newborn calf himself.

He sniffed the calf all around then gave him a shower of affectionate licks. Tucker was excited for the baby cow to grow up, and perhaps he thought about the calf as his new playmate in the future. The calf does not seem to mind the treatment at all; in fact, it looked like it wanted to be given some more.

Tucker’s mom shared the wholesome clip on the internet.

Heartland Animal Hospital was in awe to see little Tucker with the newborn calf. They decided to share the clip that Tucker’s mom took on Facebook, and people on the net just swarmed on the animals’ cuteness.

“Oh puppy wants to play and baby calf is still figuring out how to stand up,” Facebook user Sharon wrote. “One of the cutest things I’ve seen.”

The staff is always compassionate with their work and you could assure them to take care of your beloved animals. If you are from Listowell, this hospital offers you after-hours emergency care for your pet. Perhaps you could get the chance to meet the little Tucker with his brown “Lab coat.”

It is easy to get animals to cultivate a relationship with each other while they’re young.

Just like what I mentioned before, baby animals are the same as us when we were children – desperate to find a playmate or even a potential best friend. This is also why we see plenty of unusual friendships involving animals becoming friends with others despite obvious differences. For example, puppies and babies. Even cats and dogs go along with each other even though most people perceive them as polar opposites.

Hopefully, the calf grew up to be friends with the friendly Tucker even for a short while!
