Dogs are intelligent, persuasive, and sometimes stubborn. This means that they are very effective in persuading us to give in to their requests.
Just look at those adorable puppy eyes!
This is exactly how Alfred the Boston Terrier learned a very important lesson.
It all started with their usual drive. Alfred was with his furmom, Sarah Hopkins. Usually, they would drive around and then would go for long walks, but that day was different because it was raining.
Because of the torrential Welsh rain, Sarah told Alfred that they won’t be able to go out.
Oh! The look of disappointment in Alfred’s eyes was obvious.
Then Alfred started protesting. Many of the viewers could even hear him saying “it’s wet” like Sarah told him.
“You’re gonna get wet. It’s windy,” said Sarah.
Little Alfred was quite stubborn and started whining while showing his eagerness to go for a walk, even if it was raining.
The adorable Boston Terrier was persistent, and you could see it in his eyes.
“What? But it’s raining. You okay to get wet? You’re going to get wet, mind, and it’s really rainy. It’s absolutely hammering it down. It’s cold,” warned Sarah.
Still, the little dog was determined to have his daily walk, no matter how cold.
Then the clip shows them walking. Of course, Alfred wore protective gear, but the wind and rain were pretty hard as well.
You can hear the wind in the background and you can see how Alfred was walking as fast as he could.
Next, the clip cuts back after the windy and cold walk to Alfred sitting in the car seat. In the background, you can even hear Sarah sniffing because of the icy wind outside.
She then says, “Hey, do you want to go for a walk?”
Alfred immediately gives Sarah a look, and his expression was priceless! His eyes were wide-opened, and his face was full of regret.
Then Alfred shivered.
Realizing he made a terrible decision, he shivered and gave Sarah that sorry look.
“It’s cold isn’t? I told you, didn’t I?”
The dog looked away. It’s as if he knew he made an awful choice and he won’t ever do it again.
Again, Sarah joked and asked her dog if he wants to go back out.
Alfred looked at her again and shivered more.
Sarah laughed and said, “Well, that’s a change of tune isn’t it? Was it too cold for you? Do want to go home? Is that what you want to do?”
Then Alfred became excited. The poor dog wanted to go home as soon as possible.
Maybe he was thinking of that warm fireplace where he could rest and ponder about the decision he made.
Despite regretting his decision and getting soaked, Alfred won the hearts of millions of people.
The viral TikTok clip garnered over 5.9M!
Though most of the viewers found the clip adorable and funny, there were other people who voiced their opinion about feeling bad for the cute Boston Terrier.
