Some people don’t treat animals like they should.
The reality of the world that we live in is sometimes difficult. While many people, especially here at Animal Channel, love animals and pets with all their hearts, some people don’t. Abandonment is a travesty that happens all across the world for many pets who just want a loving owner. Thankfully, some people make it their work to care for those pets and animals.
One man had a personal encounter with one of these circumstances.
Andrei Matei was driving one day when something happened that he was never expecting. Roads are dangerous places, even for humans! Cars fly down little concrete paths in a way that seems incredibly unnatural. A human knows to stay away from these roads unless they are in vehicles themselves. Animals often don’t.
While driving, Andrei saw a little animal run out in the road.
With quick reactions, Andrei hit his brakes and came to a halt right near the little animal that was in front of him. Looking a bit more closely, this wasn’t some random squirrel or another woodland animal; this was a puppy.
Getting out of his car, Andrei walked up to the pup.
The little dog didn’t seem to be with any humans in the area and was very much out of place on the busy road. Looking around some more, Andrei realized that this pup wasn’t alone – it had two siblings at the edge of the road. Andrei had found three puppies that had been abandoned right next to the highway.
Highways are popular places to abandon animals.
There are some pretty horrible people out there who don’t treat animals like they deserve. For some reason, highways and freeways are popular places to leave unwanted animals that humans don’t want anymore. People will often pull over, dump the animal out the door (sometimes in a box), and go.
Andrei had stumbled onto one of these sad situations.
Finding these three puppies, it was evident that they had been coldly abandoned. Now, there was a decision to make. If Andrei left the pups on the road, they were surely not going to make it. It was just too dangerous out, and one of them had already run into the street.
Taking them in, Andrei decided to help.
Once he got them in the car and safe, the next step was to formulate a plan. Puppies are a lot of work and require care to keep healthy. Talking to his friends, he got the advice to call a local animal rescuer Aura Vasile for help.
After taking them to Aura, the pups got the care they needed.
The three little pups dog dewormed, bathed, and fed! With the dogs healthy and happy, it was now time to find them a home. It had been a while since Andrei had seen them and decided to check-in.
After calling Aura, Andrei discovered that the dogs had all found forever homes after a week!
It makes sense as the little things were incredibly cute! Thankfully, Andrei’s kindness saved three lives that day on the road. We can all learn from his example and be kind!
