These adorable puppies are just starting their training to be service dogs in multiple fields. They are just going to start some “ruff” training but they are up to the task! These service dogs are going to help change lives through their new careers and they do not even know it yet. At this moment they are saving lives through their cuteness. Take a look at these 35 future service dogs, some will grow up to be therapy dogs, work with the police or military. Thank you for your service cute puppies!
1. Too Heavy
Teddy must get used to wearing his harness, but it’s a bit too new for him right now! If Teddy is going to be seeing-eye dog he will have to get used to being right-side up while wearing the harness. Maybe tomorrow he will get it!
2. Safety First
The Brimfield Police Department understands the importance of wearing a bulletproof vest while on the job. This puppy in training is going to have to grow into his vest! His face is determined and already taking his position seriously!
3. First Day
It’s this puppy’s first day on the job. This cutie is ready and prepared to be the new puppy at the station and take down those criminals. This picture would be perfect for his new ID card.
4. Study Up
This puppy knows the importance of studying for the job and he is studying hard! If the test was graded in adorableness, this puppy would get 100%.
5. Photo Shoot
This 7 week old puppy is starting his new career with a photoshoot. West Midlands Police Department informed the public that,
“Operational police dogs must have a sound temperament and be bold and courageous – not too aggressive. They spend a long time training and bonding with their handlers and play a vital role in identifying evidence and offenders.”
6. Long Day
It was a long day of training for this future service dog. Training can be exhausting and this puppy needed a well deserved nap. He fell completely asleep before he even left the training building!
7. Zuma
Zuma’s trainer is madly in love already. This puppy won over his trainer on the first day, their training is going to a love fest. Zuma just needs a quick nap before getting back to it.
8. One Day
Snoopy is so small that he does not even fit in the training vest. One day Snoopy is going to fit in his training vest, just not today. Good luck on your future training Snoopy!
9. Play or Work
If work is going to be playing with toys all day, then this puppy is going to be one happy worker! He takes his work very seriously, when it comes to grabbing that toy.
10. Happy Tuco
Tuco is excited to start training in the K-9 Unit. Tuco could not hide his excitement or his tongue from hanging outside his mouth. Tuco is ready to take on the streets of Boston!
11. Puppy Eyes
This adorable service dog knows how to bat those puppy eyes to get whatever he wants. This service dog is getting his training in by being at the Los Angeles International Airport, what a busy airport for this little guy!
12. Mo’s First Day
Mo’s first day at the Manchester Police Department went off great. This German Shepherd is ready to hang with the big boys. Good luck Mo!
13. Future Guide Dog
This future guide dog is training hard for his duties. He cannot wait to grow up and become best friends with his future companion, but until then he has more training to finish.
14. New Recruit
This canine is the new recruit for the K-9 division. They had to take a picture to send show off the utter cuteness. This puppy is ready to get his training started from the very first day, what a good boy.
15. Rhino
Rhino has a bright future ahead of him, he is a member of the Puppy Development Training for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). RAAF states that Rhino and his eight siblings,
“…named by RAAF Amberley’s Health Operational Conversion Unit, are 15 weeks old and have been enjoying weekend home stays as they prepare to go into a foster care home as part of Puppy Development Training.”
16. Xxcalliber
Xxcalliber has started his training with the United States Air Force. Xxcalliber has two x’s at the beginning of his named because USAF trained dogs all have the first letter in their name be doubled to be identified as a USAF trained puppy.
17. Field Trips
Field trips are pivotal during a service animal’s training. The puppies must keep their training intact while being in a crowd. This puppy was taken to an ice cream factory to make sure he is listening to his training. Good work buddy!
18. Big Boy Training
This puppy is starting to grow out of his training vest! He is ready to move on to the next phase of his service dog training. Is it graduation time soon?
19. Cuddle Session
If service puppies need someone, or something, to cuddle up with on their down time. It cannot be work all the time! This guide puppy in training is cuddled up with his stuffed animal during his nap time. Our hearts are melting at the cuteness overload.
20. Size Up
These puppies in training are trying to keep up with the older dogs. They are showing off their puppy vests proudly. The older police dog is looking at the new puppies with the wisdom of his training, the little guys do not know what they are getting into just yet.
21. Nap Time
Training has been exhausting for this little puppy, so she needed a nap. Her trainers completely understood and coned off this little cutie’s new nap area. Safety first in all parts of training, even safely napping.
22. Head Tilt
This little guy does not know the intense training he is about to begin. He has always leaned on his good looks up until this point, but now the hard work has to start. He will be up the challenge, we just know it.
23. Do I Have To?
This puppy’s face is not too excited and this police officer is in for a lot of begging his new partner. It is almost as if the cop is telling the puppy,
“STOP RESISTING… all my cuddles!”
24. New Badge
This puppy is showing of its new badge. He is about to be the boss of the city and keep the streets safe. All he has to do is grow to a full size dog to instill any fear because right now he is just too adorable to exude authority.
25. Work Friends
Everyone has their work friends and these little guys are no different. These puppies will be trained together, therefore, bonded together forever. Welcome to your new life puppies!
26. FFalcor
FFalcor is pictured here with a handler. FFalcor is a puppy in the Military Working Dog Puppy Program, which has intensive training. The relationship with the puppies and their handlers is so important and FFalcor is super comfortable with his!
27. Good Examples
This guide dog in training receives training not only from handlers but also from adult dogs that are full trained. The concept of following by example is great here because that fully trained guide dog is showing the puppy the ropes.
28. Scoob
Scooby-Doo has some competition in catching the bad guys, this eleven week old puppy named Scoob. Scoob wants to make his namesake proud and help solve crime with the West Midlands Police Department. Scoob just has to be trained first!
29. First Day Jitters
This cutie pie is joining the Finnish Police Department. His face is showing that he might have a bit of nerves, but do not worry, those first day jitters will go away with training. Training is starting early for this 8 week old, but he will get the hang of it soon.
30. Warrior Canine
Jack is about to start training for his new line of work with the Warrior Canine Connection. Jack is going to work with veterans and his new service vest is a perfect fit. Have a great first day Jack.
31. First Day’s
This trainer is going to remember when the puppy was so small he could fit in the palm of his hand. This military service puppy is only at the beginning of his very new life.
32. Nap Break
It does not matter what the age of the dog, after a long day of work they all need a nap. These two service buddies went for their nap break together. How could anyone be able to wake these buddies up after such a long day?
33. Ready To Work
This service dog, named Chiyo, is jumping headfirst into his training. Chiyo is not afraid of what the future holds for him and his new human friend. Chiyo will take the wheel and never look back for both of them.
34. Police Puppy
This police puppy is happy to start his training. He has all the criminals stopping in their track because as one person states,
“I would totally stop in the name of the law for that little dude.”
35. Comfort Dogs
Some service animals are solely there to provide comfort to people in need. Luther and Isaiah are pros in comforting people. They stopped by their local high school and were the perfect comfort dogs. After a long day of comforting everyone else, the little guy needed comfort of his own.
