Daytona motel incident.

On a Monday afternoon, Volusia police and deputy officers rushed to a motel at Daytona Beach after receiving a call about a woman threatening to jump off the second floor.

They slowly approached a 35-year old woman, Allison Murphy, who was standing over the railing to try. They tried to convince her not to jump. However, things escalated quickly, and they couldn’t adapt to what happened next.

The police at the scene were astonished after seeing what the woman did in front of them.

Murphy must have felt pressured being surrounded by the police, and she shut herself inside her room. The officers knocked on the door multiple times, but they received no response. A little while later, Murphy came out bringing her leashed 1-year old German Shepherd then tossed it off the balcony.

There was no time to react and the officers couldn’t catch the dog. The police officers hurriedly arrested the suspect after she threw the dog so she would not harm others just like the poor dog.

Thankfully, the pup was able to land safely without sustaining major injuries.

After being thrown out from such a high place, the pup was expected to be inflicted with fatal injuries or worse even died. However, a miracle occurred, as she landed safely on the ground and ran away.

The bystanders below were trying to catch the runaway pooch and luckily came across John Carnot, a food truck vendor who was able to secure the dog before she reaches the highway.

The deputies took the dog into protective custody and helped her recover.

The pooch was immediately rushed to the hospital, but after the examination, they found out that the dog was physically fine, except for the needle into her thigh which was removed through surgery.

She was taken to Volusia County Animal Services (VCAS) for her recovery until they could find the perfect home for her. They also gave her a befitting name after what she had been through – Miracle.

As for her previous owner, she suffered a fitting fate for her crime.

Murphy was charged with a misdemeanor of cruelty to animals, along with a felony charge after resisting arrest. She also paid about $1,000 for the dog’s care and was banned from having a pet for the next five years. She must also complete an animal care course after the ban if she wants to keep another pet.
