When Frito was adopted from Texas Humane Heroes as a pup, he went to a wonderful loving home. His 6 siblings were also adopted by loving families as well.

Yeah, I know – you’re probably wondering why I’m telling you such a boring story. But wait for it! Because Frito’s frolicking fun family reunion is about to go down!

This adorable doggy fairytale is unusual in that it actually begins years after the “happily ever after” part.

The day Frito donned a snazzy suit to make a plea for help on social media.

Texas Humane Heroes is a non-profit organization that rescues at-risk dogs and cats from overcrowded city shelters. Their job is to find fur-ever homes for dogs just like Frito.

And when Frito was adopted by Cori Gemmiti and her family back in 2015, their mission was accomplished! Or, so it seemed.

Turns out, there were still some loose threads that would eventually come back to “bite” them.

You probably never heard of Frito before, because he didn’t make the news way back when.

Frito wasn’t found half-starved and abandoned in a cardboard box on the side of the road like other rescue stories. In fact, his adoption was totally normal and uneventful.

The only “sad” part of this puppy tale is that Frito was separated from his 6 siblings.

When Frito’s owner, Corrie Gemmiti, first adopted him, the woman who originally fostered the litter of pups sent her pictures.

Years later, Corrie re-discovered a photo of the happy crew playing together.

She wondered what they all looked like now, and if the brothers and sisters would remember each other.

And that’s when this story takes a turn for the better with an amazing family reunion like no other!

Frito was jonesing for a puppy playdate.

When you share a womb with your brothers and sisters, it’s hard to forget them. So, what’s a desperate doggo to do when he needs some furry feel-good hugs from his long-lost family?

He asks Mom to take his plight to social media, of course!

Here’s the sassy sign that started it all:

“Hi, my name is Frito. I was adopted from Texas Humane Heroes on October 14, 2015. I’m looking for my siblings whose names were: Domino, Snow, Raven, Cali, Buddy & Aspen. Please share my post so I can reunite with them for a puppy playdate at Texas Humane Heroes. #AdoptDontShop”

The whole gang is back together again!

Well, minus one. Thanks to the far reach of social media, five of Frito’s six missing siblings were found in less than two days.

Texas Humane Heroes posted the following update on their Facebook page:

“REUNION UPDATE: 4 of Frito’s 6 siblings have been found! The reunion is set for February 18th and we hope to hear from the remaining two siblings soon! Thank you to everyone who shared, you helped make this happen!”

Six dogs and their extended human family showed up for the party, and everyone had a blast.

But, you can’t have a family get-together without binging on a buffet of food, right?

So, let them have cake!

And they’re off to the races.

That yummy bone-shaped treat didn’t have a chance. But, their friendship is sure to last – after all, they’re family.

Frito’s owner, Cori Gemmiti, told ABC News:

“All the dogs got along really great. It was nice to meet all the families of all the dogs. It was good to talk to them and figure out the personalities of all the dogs.”
