Everyone knows that dogs are known as one of the most loyal pets you can have.
They will follow you to the ends of the Earth, and also to the hospital if the need arises.
When one man’s health took a turn for the worse on a walk with his little dog, onlookers were concerned both for the man and his pup.
Anderson Bahi was on his way home from work when he saw an ambulance on the other side of the road in his Brazilian town.
He slowed down in order to safely pass the scene when he was something that made him do a double take.
As the paramedics were just about to close the back doors of the ambulance, Bahi saw a little dog hop onto the bumper and into the vehicle.
He learned that the man was out for a walk with his small dog when he had a medical emergency and needed to go to the hospital.
The dog, who was bundled up in an adorable sweater for their brisk evening walk, looked with concern at his owner and decided he would need to supervise the transportation of his beloved human.
Once at the hospital the dog sat patiently outside waiting to find out what was happening.
A woman who lived near the hospital found out about what had happened and offered to take the dog in for the night until his owner was ready to come pick him up.
Luckily though, the man was in and out of the hospital in less than an hour and found his best friend waiting for him.
Having a strong sense of loyalty has been ingrained in dogs since before they were domesticated, they thrive in a pack atmosphere.
Since being domesticated, dogs quickly took to thinking of their owners as members of their pack, and they care for their human in the same way they would care for a fellow dog.
The benefits of dog ownership extend to more than just the love and loyalty they bring you.
There is scientific evidence that owning a dog as a pet can increase your heart health, lower stress levels, and help to cope in a crisis.
Another benefit of keeping a canine companion is that they make you more active. Dogs need to be walked in order to release their excess energy which motivates their owners to walk too.
There are also statistics that show the, even virtually, owning a dog makes you more attractive.
People come across as more happy, more approachable, and more friendly when they have a dog, and this extends to having a dog in your profile image on dating sites as well.
Research has found that people with dogs have an easier time making friends than people without dogs by a margin of 40%.
