There is no one more protective in the world than a dad. The minute he finds out a little one is on the way, the instincts just begin to kick in. And when he lays his eyes on the baby, it basically seals the deal: no harm is going to come to his offspring while he’s around. No, not on his watch. Dads don’t always look it but they’re brimming with love and affection for their kids. That love comes out even stronger in situations when extra protection from the world is needed. It doesn’t matter if the child is a boy or a girl, either. Gender and age will never change the intensity of a father’s love and protectiveness for his kids.
In the animal world, it’s exactly the same. Dads are instinctively protective of their offspring, too.
Lions, tigers, bears, and… Golden Retrievers.
Golden Retrievers have been finding their way in the hearts of families for decades through their irresistible temperament.
They’re known as friendly, intelligent, devoted dogs that are also great with kids. They love playing outdoors and have exceptional swimming and fetching skills. Lovingly called Goldens, they’re quite easy to train and have a joyous and playful approach to life. In fact, Goldens are so happy-go-lucky that they maintain puppyish behavior into adulthood!

Adorable and gentle, this breed is always a treat to raise. Take this handsome Golden Retriever who has just been ushered into fatherhood! Don’t let the sweet face and charming nature fool you. He embodies the abovementioned qualities and more – he’s also fiercely protective of his little one! We’ve never seen a stricter (and cuter) dad, honestly.
Considering how well taken care of the Golden Retriever is, it’s both funny and delightful how he refuses to let anyone else approach his daughter.
Each attempt to reach out to his daughter is met with an “I don’t think so” look and arms covering the puppy. This dad sure is a tough one!
He may not have the menacing look down pat but he sure has all the cues.
Quite clear about not wanting his daughter to be held by anyone else, this Golden dad never leaves his puppy’s side.
He’s not quite ready to share her with anyone just yet. Or ever, judging by the looks of it.
When someone tried to reach out to the puppy, the Golden Retriever dad’s reaction is priceless.
“Give me your paw.”
To which the dad responds by holding out his paw and then quickly using his arm to shield his puppy from any human interaction.
Viewers were definitely amused.
“I said it once, I’ll say it again. You’re not taking her to prom!”
“Before you date my daughter know this, I’m a dad with Sharp Teeth, Paws, and a Backyard.”
“I see this dog was one of the lucky few husbands/fathers who got custody of their child in the divorce.”
