Babies always bring such an air of excitement! They are just so little and cute, not to mention always available for snuggles. When a human is having a baby, there is a lot of preparation that goes into it! From getting the house ready to going to certain classes, human babies require a lot of attention before they even get here.
Dogs, a little less so.
For a variety of reasons, dogs just seem to give birth a bit easier! There is still that electric atmosphere, however, as you know that there is about to be a new litter of puppies hopping around the floor!
Eleanor Rigby was waiting for a flight in Tampa when something unexpected happened.
Eleanor, or “Ellie” for short, is a yellow lab who acts as a service dog for her owner! Ellie was on the way to fly to Philidelphia when a “particular” moment in everyone’s life suddenly realized it couldn’t wait any longer.
Ellie and her baby daddy, Nugget, were together when the event happened.
Ellie started going into labor right in the middle of the airport in Tampa. While most human dads would freak out, Nugget took it all in stride! He calmly watched, having complete trust in his partner.
Tampa Fire Rescue showed up to help with the delivery.
Ellie decided that Gate 80 in this particular terminal was the ideal place to make it happen! With Tampa Fire Rescue around, the team got to work delivering the little puppies that everyone was so ready to meet.
#AirportPuppies for the win!
#Ellie is the proud mother of 6 boys so far…The delivery crew including @TPAPolice @flytpa awaits number 7. Will it be a girl? #AirportPuppies pic.twitter.com/Wla9iHjGEJ

The entire thing was documented on Twitter by the Fire Rescue team. Dubbing them with an official hashtag, they named them the #airportpuppies!
Six puppies were delivered with a seventh on the way.

With the whole airport cheering Ellie on, she successfully delivered six puppies, all boys! The team soon realized that there was still more to come, however, as a seventh was on the way. As everyone watched, they pulled a girl out! The little girl puppy would have lots of older brothers to contend with!
After one more boy was born, Ellie was all done.
After a tiring eight-puppy-day, Ellie was finally finished. Ellie and Nugget were going to have themselves a handful, especially with so many boys. Imagine seven human boys, all at the same time!
Tampa International Airport even posted about the event.
With everyone excited and full of energy, the ordeal came to a conclusion. Imagine all the people who missed their flights just to hang around and see the incredible ordeal! Even Tampa International Airport tweeted about it:
Ruff day for this mama at Airside F today! Eleanor Rigby, a golden retriever service dog, was about to board a plane to Philly when she went into labor at Gate 80. Our Tampa Fire Rescue ARFF (no pun intended) paramedics were on hand to aid the successful deliver of eight pups — seven males, one female.
