Grandma documents the adorable bond her 3 poodles have with grandkids
Three very large poodles and two small children make for the most adorable Instagram account.

It all began two years ago when a Japanese grandmother started an Instagram page devoted to the love her poodles — especially her giant poodle Riku — had for her baby granddaughter Mame.

As the little girl grew, Riku only grew more attached to the little girl and was the perfect playmate.

Now, siblings Riku, Gaku, and Qoo are getting more famous by the minute, and they have surpassed half a million Instagram fans!

The foursome could be trusted to spend all sorts of quality time together — from playing on the tiny indoor trampoline…

But nowadays Mame is sharing the spotlight — as well as the dogs’ love — with her new baby brother, Mugi.

And the dogs dote on the little boy the same way they did (and still do) with Mame.

Say what you want about poodles, but this grandmother takes special care of her beautiful animals and has taught them to be extremely gentle with her beloved grandchildren.

Mame is now three years old and Mugi is one, and Grandma has compiled over 1,000 delightful photos for people to scroll through, each one more heartwarming than the last.

And the size difference between the children and dogs is sometimes breathtaking!

These majestic (and enormous) poodles don’t seem to mind the antics of babies, toddlers, or constant photography.

The children’s grandmother has also started a blog that talks a little bit about the dogs and babies — but the automatic Japanese to English translations aren’t always very good.

She does, however, mention that she’s always nearby to make sure the kids and pups don’t get too wound up and that despite the number of kisses back and forth, she’s always there to wipe up any dog drool from her grandkids! (She’s also keenly aware that allergies could become an issue and is on the lookout for that.)

Grandma is also careful to use discipline with the dogs and gentle explanations with the kids to teach the two-way respect they’ve come to have for one another. (It does, indeed, take some work!)

But she is also concerned about the dogs’ lives and happiness and makes sure they have plenty of down-time so they don’t get overstimulated by little hands and constant squeals.

Grandma likes a calm home.

The family also realizes that the closeness they experience with the poodles and small children may not work for everyone.

But the Instagram page is a celebration of the love between little humans and big dogs. So enjoy the photos simply as they’re meant — as an illustration of a sweet and responsible relationship that takes effort and care.
