What a good dog!

Most dogs will eat just about anything and they know when they’re about to get a snack! But one Pitbull is gaining attention for his good manners when the ice cream truck showed up in his neighborhood.

It must have been a regular treat for the good dog.

The moment he heard the music, he was up and running to the truck. He got there ahead of his owner, but then, to everyone’s surprise, he sat down behind the person making their order and waited politely for his turn.

He’s clearly well-trained.

It’s rare that a dog — or even a human child — can wait so patiently for ice cream!

Eventually, his owner manages to catch up with him. He can’t keep himself from prancing back and forth with excitement and wagging his tail! But he also remembers to sit nicely and wait his turn.

As a reward for being such a good boy, his owner gets him a vanilla cone and he gulps it down right away.

No wonder he gets so excited when he hears the music of the ice cream truck! And no wonder he’s willing to mind his manners to get a tasty treat.

People on the internet can’t believe the dog is so well-trained and willing to wait quietly for her treat — especially since most dogs are known for not being able to control themselves around food.

“What a sweet, well-behaved guy!” said one commenter.

“I love how he eats it in 2 seconds, then goes back to the window like, ‘that was good…I want another, hoomman!’”

“The time it took the dog to eat the ice cream, and the cone, was far less than the time spent waiting in line,” said another commenter. “Well-mannered dog, the ice cream didn’t stand a chance, however.”

Others recalled that had similar memories of their own dogs.

“My husky used to do that at an outdoor pizza place we sometimes go to. He’d wait in line like everyone else (even scoot up a bit when the line was moving) and he’d stand up on two legs when he got to the counter,” said one commenter. “It’s hilarious because the cook would show him the slice he would get and put it on a plate for him. Eventually, any time I would go with him, the manager would give him his slice for free.”

Although most dogs can handle small amounts of ice cream as an occasional treat, it’s not always a good idea to give it to them.

Dogs can’t process dairy effectively after infancy, so eating it may cause gas, bloating, diarrhea, or vomiting. Some ice cream also contains xylitol, a food additive that changes the ice cream’s consistency. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs. And of course, dogs should never have any ice cream that contains chocolate, as it contains compounds that are highly poisonous to canines.

However, if your dog has no health problems and the ice cream contains no ingredients that are harmful to them, they may be able to handle an occasional small amount as a treat.
