Dogs truly are man’s best friends, but have we ever considered that they may be kid’s best friends, too?
If you’ve ever seen how close a little boy and a dog can be, you might think that little ones take priority in the relationship – and you’d probably be right!
This amazing story shows how a dog, without a second thought, befriends a little boy and may have saved his life.
Kh’amorion Taylor is a toddler who went missing, causing his family to fear for his life.
Losing a child is one of the worst things that can happen as a parent and for the Taylor family, that horrible thing happened one fateful week.
Little Kh’amorion was gone for nearly an entire day when he somehow got out of the house with nothing but his pajamas on!
Shoeless and lost, the toddler walked around the neighborhood as his dad frantically tried to find him.
Finally, after searching for hours, they had some luck.
An anonymous neighbor saw the little boy walking and knew something was wrong.
Strangely, however, he had a friend with him. A large pitbull who trotted along with the boy, keeping an eye on things.
“I knocked on the doors up and down the street. Knocked on the doors, no answers; no one who did answer, they didn’t recognize the child,” she said.
The neighbor then spent the next few hours going door to door, looking for his parents.
The anonymous neighbor knew that the boy had recently been lost from the state of his health and appearance.
He was clearly well taken care of, he was just lost without shoes.
Going out of her way, she then spend the next few hours knocking on doors, asking around for any information on the boy in the street.
Sadly, she didn’t have any luck.
“He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on,” she said.
Finally, a breakthrough.
Kh’amorion’s dad saw a social media post and ran down to where he was last seen.
When he arrived, he saw him, happy and healthy as could be.
They still aren’t sure how the little boy escaped, but the woman was happy to help. As she correctly says,
“Because it takes a village and children, especially, are innocent,”
Thankfully, the boy had a protector with him the whole time.
We don’t know much about the dog, but we know he seemed to “adopt” the boy when he found him!
The dog was keeping an eye on him, making sure that nobody was going to do anything to him that could hurt him.
Calling the massive pitbull his “puppy”, his dad isn’t sure where the dog came from to begin with!
It wasn’t confirmed, but the St. Louis Police Department might adopt the “savior” puppy!
For a dog that protected an innocent boy for hours at a time, it only makes sense that someone would take the time to look out for him.
It takes a village, right?
