When you think of a ‘picky eater,’ you probably imagine a small child who doesn’t want to eat vegetables. And probably, the last thing you’d picture is a dog. After all, dogs are notorious for eating everything — including things they shouldn’t eat.
But there is one dog out there who is a very picky: a golden retriever named Luna.
Luna always sends her food back to the kitchen.
All she does is stare at her food, and you can bet she’d ask to speak to the manager if she could. But since her human dad loves her, he acts as head chef and even takes her dish back to the kitchen himself. Luna wants her food done in a certain way.
Her protein-rich meal is not done to her unusually high standards. It should be oven-baked!
Chef dad is a nice man so he does take it back, even letting Luna tail him so she can see how he does it.
He pops her food into the oven and sets the timer to one minute. That should bring the flavors out!
What Luna doesn’t know is that chef dad only sets the timer.
But hey, to the untrained eye it looks to be cooking in there. He counts down with the automated timer, his dog looking on eagerly at her oven-baked meal.
“Look it’s cooking! Right here! It’s cooking!”
Now, how many chefs would allow their guests to enter the kitchen just to prove that he’s working on their meals? Luna gets to peek in the oven too!
He even tells her how many seconds are left. Luna stares at him blankly.
She’s probably thinking, It had better be done right this time.
Ten… five… beep!
“It’s ready! Are you ready? Alright! Here you go! Yummy! Cooked! It’s cooked for you. There you go, good girl.”
He takes her perfectly cooked meal out of the oven, leads her back out of the kitchen, and lays her dish on the carpet for Luna to enjoy.
The retriever digs in with so much enthusiasm as if she got a free meal from Gordon Ramsay himself. Luna is certainly enjoying her meal!
Even viewers in the comments section learned something,
“My dog is the same way! I’ll have to try that trick!”
While some were all praises,
“Awww!!! So adorable!!! So awesome that you go to these lengths for the love of your Luna!!”
But that’s how pet parents are!
They will go to great lengths just to keep their furry friends happy. It’s like having a kid minus the expensive schooling. You have to admire dad for coming up with a creative way of getting his Luna to eat her food.
Even though Luna’s food may not have actually been ‘cooked,’ Luna still loves it! Maybe she can taste the love and warmth her dad clearly has for her. Or, maybe she simply likes the idea of freshly baked dog food.
