There are SO many terrier breeds. You know what that means? We get nearly LIMITLESS pictures of them! They are some of the most fun-loving and courageous breeds in the world, and we can’t help but fall in love with them. The AKC describes them as:
Feisty and energetic are two of the primary traits that come to mind for those who have experience with Terriers. In fact, many describe their distinct personalities as “eager for a spirited argument.”
If you’ve ever met the smaller terrier breeds, you will probably agree with that statement! Here are 50 photos that show just how much personality they have.
1. Boston terrier
First of all, this is a CUTIE. Boston Terriers are actually the first terrier breed that came from the US, and they have taken over our hearts. His huge eyes do it for me.
2. The American gentleman
Boston Terriers actually picked up the nickname “The American Gentleman” because of how their coloration often makes them appear to have a tuxedo on. We are here for it.
3. Naughty dog
Coming home to a scene like this is something that ALL dog owners have experienced before. No perfect dog exists. They usually make up for it with their cute looks though.
4. The best eyes
Puppy eyes are scientifically proven to allow dogs to get anything they want from humans. Thankfully, they only use it for food and shelter, not world domination.

5. Lamb dog
If you ever see someone walking a sheep, they probably have a Bedlington Terrier! These pups look like little lambs walking around on a leash.
6. No messes!
While most dog sheds, one of the best things about these terrier breeds is the fact that they don’t shed! If you wear black a lot, you can finally ditch the lint roller.
7. Cairn Terrier
Cairn terriers are incredible little dogs! They are amazing diggers, making them perfect for rooting out mice and rats from barns and houses.
8. Special paws
The special thing that makes them such good diggers is their paws. They have larger front paws with special padding when compared to their back ones. That’s specific breeding in action!
9. Silky smooth
Silky terriers look similar to Yorkies, only they come from the land down under (Australia). They are as soft as their name implies, too!
10. “I’m waiting…”
This dog looks like it just asked for a treat and it is trying to be patient. It reminds me of a toddler who is trying so hard to be patient, but is struggling.
11. Bath time
Having a white dog is awesome and cute until THIS happens! This poor thing looks like it was nearly swallowed up in a mud pit! Bath time is now next on the agenda.
12. Cute, even in sleep.
So often (for humans at least), we look ROUGH when we are sleeping. Mouth open, drooling, and probably snoring. Not this little dog – she is beautiful even as she sleeps.

13. Piglets!
Certain terrier breeds have noses that look more like snouts! This is a famous terrier breed known as a Bull Terrier (the Target Dog) and he looks a little like a piglet!
14. Adam Driver
I don’t know why, but this dog wearing this hat looks a bit like Adam Driver. Am I wrong? I’m not sure.
15. Not in their nature
Bull Terriers were originally bred for fighting but in reality, they are gooft and fun-loving. Just look at this little fellow sleeping and tell me he’s aggressive.
16. Loving friends
Like lots of other breeds, they don’t live up to their past reputations of being aggressive or mean. They make amazing family dogs and love to snuggle.
17. Magestic
Skye Terriers are super unique looking! They have flowing hair and a personality to match their elegance. They are quite pretty to see if you ever see one.

18. A rare sight
These breeds are actually really uncommon. They are considered to be endangered, and you don’t see them out and about that often!

19. A bit foxy
Fox terriers are awesome! They look like Jack-Russels a bit and are athletic, and love to play ALL day long. They are cute as a button, too!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BtNsd4RjmyH/?utm_source=ig_embed
20. Super smart
As their name implies, Fox terriers are really smart and quick-witted. They also have a great sense of humor and know how to milk humans out of all their treats!

21. Similiar but different
This is a Wire Fox Terrier! It has a similar name, but it’s a different breed. It has a different type of hair and is definitely fluffier than its cousin! How cute is this one?

22. Staffy Terrier
These loving dogs are nearly the same breed as Pit Bulls, but have some slight appearance differences, specifically in competition at shows and the like.
23. Super stocky
Staffordshires are SUPER strong and look like blocks of muscle. They are lovers, however, and make great family dogs and love kids.

24. Pint-sized Gallon
This is the Norfolk Terrier! These little dogs are big dogs stuffed into little bodies. They are always ready for fun and have a cute package to match their little bodies.

25. Jack Russel!
These famous dog breeds are known for their energy and stubbornness. They are also insanely athletic and can do things that big dogs only dream of!
26. High flyers
In fact, these little Jack Russels can jump five times their own height! They look like little jumping fleas when they leap, seeming to pop into the air out of nowhere.
27. Yorkies
The moment everyone has been waiting for… Yorkies! These little bundles of joy are well-known for their loving and hyper temperaments and cuddly complexions.
28. You never know what they are up to!
If it’s quiet for too long in the house and you have a Yorkie, you might want to do a sweep! You never know what they are up to. Thankfully, they love to sit in laps and get snuggles, so they don’t leave your sight too much.
29. 2 for 1 deal
Having one Yorkie is fun enough, but two! This house is probably full of snuggles and love. They seem to love being under the blanket in this pic!

30. Donut what to do
This little Westie seems to want something. If only we could speak dog and understand what he was asking his mom for! So mysterious.

31. Out cold
Getting a good nap is sometimes essential. This little pup is probably dreaming of running through fields and eating peanut butter.

32. Resting after a long day of resting
After a long day of resting, sometimes, you need a nap. A post-nap-nap, if you will. You get it, right?
33. Smiles for dayz
A smiling dog is a happy dog. This little pup looks like it just had a great day out with mom and is happy to head home for some snuggles.
34. Adorable to WTF
This is Ponyo! Such a cutie and can easily go from cute terrier mix to WTF (at least according to her owner). It’s safe to say that we love her.
35. Strange mix
The rescue told this dog mom that she was a terrier chihuahua mix, and it’s not hard to see why. This is quite an amusing dog to look at, but she is probably a ton of fun!

36. Smart pup
This Jack Russel doesn’t want to go outside so he hopped up on the couch and pretended to go to sleep! In his mind, the plan was foolproof and had no way of failure.
37. FFL
FFL means Friends For Life, and that’s what these two are going to be! Having two dogs in the house, especially if you aren’t home a lot, is a great way to keep your pups occupied.
38. Biking buddy
This terrier loves to run alongside the bike when they go out to play. When she gets tired, a quick break in the basket while she catches her breath! That’s cute!
She loves to run alongside while we bike – needs a break every couple miles now that she’s 15, but looks cute as hell riding passenger!

39. Critter control
This terrier is on critter control. They were originally bred for that purpose specifically! The little shake they do when grabbing a toy is known as a “death shake” to rats.
40. Zombie
Now, if this photo doesn’t scream personality, what does? This is quite the look for a pup. She probably got bit by a zombie and is mid-transformation.
41. Pebbles
This owner wasn’t sure if Pebbles is a terrier or not but decided to post a pic on the Reddit page anyway. After a quick look, it’s pretty clear he has some terrier in him.
Meet Pebbles. I believe her to be some kind of Terrier. I hope she belongs here.

42. Pack animal
Whenever we say that dogs are pack animals, this is ACTUALLY what we mean. They just fit so perfectly into a pack. Lik Donnie looks so snuggly!
43. Been through a lot
Little Domino here has been through a lot in life. He moved on but he made such a wonderful friend to his owner. Sometimes, all you need is a good friend.
My Little Dummy, Domino. He went through a lot and I’m happy to have had him in my life.

44. Boot camp!
All dogs need a little training now and again. This little baby is on his way to his first session! He’ll be getting his driver’s license soon. They grow up so fast.
45. Basket dog
What’s a basket dog, you ask? Simply a dog that sits in a basket. This little pupo loves the laundry baskets.
46. A quick wipe
We’ve all seen a dog do this. Honestly, it’s better than letting them do it on the carpet, right? Icy cold on the bottom end might also be the solution for spicy food.
47. King of the house
For terriers, size doesn’t matter. They are the kings of the house even though they often weigh 12 pounds and are just ankle-biters.
48. A mutt of mutts
This little dude is in some trouble! Well, only if he can’t get out of it by sucking up to his owners. Darwin is 25% terrier, corgi, mini pincer, and mixed!
49. First-time snow
For many dogs in Houston this year, the snow was the very first (and last) they will ever see! This little pup did great, however, and had a blast still.
50. Spot of sunlight
The way that dogs seek out spots of sunlight to lay in and sleep is absolutely adorable. This little fox terrier is just hanging out enjoying the rays. Cute as can be.
Always love how my fox terrier is able to find those little spots of sunlight
