Like humans, pets need to see their doctors for their health. Taking them to the vet can help diagnose, treat, and prevent several health issues. Unfortunately, visiting the vet doesn’t always end up great for all pets. Some of them need to be given medications and anesthetic agents for certain procedures and surgeries. Those medications can leave them feeling drunk or groggy.
If you’re looking for something to make you smile today, then check out these 50 hilarious pets and their reactions after visiting their favorite vets!
1. Not happy
That stare definitely spells trouble. If I were this cat’s human, I’d sleep with one eye open. I won’t be able to sleep peacefully knowing that the cat’s plotting his revenge.
2. Goofy
He’s so happy that he’s not feeling any pain anymore. I wonder how he’ll feel once the medication wears off.
3. After surgery
The surgery was a success and the dog’s clearly happy about it. He’s smiling, isn’t he?
4. Too happy
With thos big eyes and huge smile, this dog looks like a cartoon character with that reaction. He must be too happy that the visit to the vet was finally over.
5. A cone
Cats don’t like wearing cones. This is probably one of the reasons why. It looks absurd and hilarious on this cat!
6. Fooled too many times
This dog looked extremely confused after his trip to the vet. He couldn’t believe his human fooled him again.
7. High on valium
Valium is an anti-anxiety medication. When cats are given too much of it, this is the kind of reaction you can expect to see on your pet. I feel bad for laughing at this poor cat.
8. Just woke up
Cats like to look good all the time. It’s why they groom themselves constantly. I think the only exception to that is the time they wake up after their visit from the vet.
9. Drunk
If owls can get drunk, this is how they’d look like. This particular owl looks like he drank more than a dozen bottles of beer!
10. Dreaming
After visiting the vet, this poor kitten came home feeling too sleepy. In fact, he didn’t make it to his bed. He fell asleep while sitting on the couch.
11. Processing
He wasn’t trying to make everyone at the clinic laugh. He just woke up from the procedure and was trying his best to process what’s happening.
12. Drugged
This dog didn’t take any illegal drugs. He had to get surgery and the vet needed to drug him for the procedure. I’m pretty sure he was clueless about everything when he woke up.
13. Grooming
Cats highly value how they look. No cone and anesthesia can stop them from grooming themselves.
14. That look
Believe it or not, this cat isn’t 100% awake. Looking at that face, it’s safe to assume that he’s already on his way to dreamland.
15. Positivity
Learning that your dog is sick can be devastating. However, it shouldn’t stop you from thinking about positive things and laughing. Take it from this human. He turned his dog as the new model for Pixar.
16. The look of vengeance
You can’t convince me that this cat isn’t plotting evil things against his human. That eye is clearly full of anger.
17. Bleh!
It’s rare for people to get decent pictures of their cat. Even with tons of treats, they will still not allow their humans to take pictures of them. I guess, you’ll have to sedate them if you’re really desperate for cat photos- or you can just wait for their next vet visit.
18. The look of regret
This tiny puppy looks like it’s already regretting all the decisions he made in his life. I guess that includes his life with his human, too.
19. Lost
Cheddar can’t hear you laughing at him. He’s clearly lost in another space.
20. 3 days
Narcotics don’t leave a dog’s body right away. This dog, for example, had this expression 3 days after his vet gave him narcotics. Yes, he’s smiling for 3 days.
21. High
This dachshund has been feeling back pain prior to his visit to the vet. After going home, it’s safe to say that he’s found relief. He looked high as a kite!
22. No regrets
When this cat’s human decided to take him to the vet, there was nothing he could do. Instead of fighting, he simply chose to enjoy it. I guess he’s not regretting it, particularly getting high on meds.
23. No more pain
Dogs are usually goofy and playful. This one, however, was more goofy than usual. He probably liked the painkillers the vet gave him.
24. Big eyes
I’m not sure if this kitten’s fully oriented. Looking at those eyes, I think he’s still high on his meds. His pupils are so huge!
25. The reaction
It’s hard to tell which is more embarrassing: Getting neutered? Or wearing that cone of shame? Whatever the reason was for this dog, I hope he wasn’t bullied for it at home.
26. “Treats”
Prior to his treatment, this poor boy received a treat from the vet. After waking up, he found himself shaved. I guess he won’t be accepting any treats from the vet from now on.
27. The look of disappointment
No amount of anesthesia and drugs can make this dog unable to show his disappointment to his human. He couldn’t believe she tricked him (again).
28. Orange
She’s not impressed with the color of her leg. Clearly, she’s not a fan of orange and Cheetos.
29. Peaceful
It looks like this human will have a peaceful night at home. No dog will be barking and running around the house.
30. After a dental appointment
You don’t really need to ask where this pair went. Just looking at the dog’s face, you can easily tell that they’ve been to the dentist.
31. Just a sleepy face
This cat’s lucky. His human wasn’t ‘able to take any embarrassing photos of him after his visit to the vet.
32. What a shame
This cat’s not lucky enough. His family will surely spend weeks and months laughing at this photo. They might even bring it up a couple of years from now.
33. Just a little bit
He’s not trying to look cool or cute for the photo. He’s just feeling a little derpy, that’s all.
34. Successful surgery
The good news? Her surgery went well. The bad news? This embarrassing photo of her will remain in her family for a long time.
35. Just wait
The dog looked calm and relaxed in this photo. It’s hard to say what happened to them when they got home. His human was worried that the dog will be mad once the anesthesia wears off.
36. Rare photo
You don’t always get to see cats looking this way. It’s a good thing his human thought of capturing this photo and uploading it on the internet for everyone to see.
37. Sensitive
He’s not scared or anything. He’s just a bit more sensitive than usual after his visit to the vet.
38. High on opioids
This man covered a vet bill for a cat that’s not even his. Moreover, the cat (that’s clealry high on opioids) spent the entire week in his house sleeping this way. I guess the cat has finally decided on the right human for him.
39. What did you say?
He can’t understand what you’re trying to say. If you’re calling his name, you may want to try a couple of hours later. He’ll probably be fully awake by then.
40. Before and after
This cat was too excited to leave the house thinking they were headed to the park. His mood changed on their way home.
41. Clean teeth
This dog might not be happy about this photo but he’ll surely be happy about his teeth. His choppers are nice and clean after their visit to the dentist.
42. Calm
The best part about getting your dog home after a procedure is the nice and quiet time you get at home. They won’t be making any mess at home in this state.
43. Still better
He might look weird but he looks better than most people waking up from anesthetic. He’s not crying or saying ridiculous things which is a good thing. He doesn’t have to worry about any random video of him on social media.
44. True self
The anesthesia brought out the cat’s alter ego. He’s actually goofy and derpy inside.
45. Sick
The cat is sick but he doesn’t look like this on a daily basis. This is him after the vet gave him his meds.
46. Side effect
Cats are naturally clingy. Apparently, Xanax makes them extra clingy.
47. Long tongue
I didn’t know dogs can have really long tongues. I guess that’s what anesthesia does. It was a good thing that he has a cone on. It keeps his tongue in place.
48. Relief
Being in pain can feel like a curse. It was a good thing that this dog was given opiates to treat her pain. She looks so much better now.
49. Mad
The cat wasn’t too happy after waking up from surgery and it’s not because of the pain. He’s mad because her beautiful fur was shaved.
50. What happened?
This cat was wondering what happened while she was asleep from anesthesia. She’s hoping she didn’t do anything she’ll regret later on.
