Christmas is an amazing time of the year. Most people look forward to getting their tree out and decorating it. They add their ornaments, the lights, and of course, the star. Just when they think they have it the way they want it, here comes their cat knocking everything down or their dog eating one of the bulbs.
Pet owners know the struggles of keeping a tree looking nice. Pets can’t help it, they are just curious about the new thing in their home. They don’t know why they can’t play with it. They just know it’s shiny and they want it.
It can be almost impossible to keep pets out of Christmas trees. There are repellant sprays, but those don’t really work. If you really want to keep your tree safe, you have to get creative.
These pet owners have had it. They are going to have a nice tree no matter what. They found a way to keep their tree pretty in spite of their pets’ efforts. Some of them may have worked better than others.
When you have a cat that likes to destroy your tree, you do what you have to do to protect it. They may not be able to cage their cat, but they can cage their tree. It looks just as good, right?

3. He Can’t Reach It There
These people are so tired of fighting their cat to get out of their tree that they decided to just put the tree on the ceiling. They decorated it nicely. It might be easier to fit gifts under it too.
These people must also have a cat. Why else would they put a tree on the ceiling? Only other cat owners can relate. Most have probably resorted to similar measures.
These people raised their tree to hide it from their cat. It appears to have worked. The cat has no idea where it is. Hopefully she doesn’t find it anytime soon.
This cat wouldn’t stay out of the tree. To punish him, they dressed him like Santa. Will he ever get tired of it? He might think it’s worth the embarrassment to play in those artificial branches.
7. Where’s The Fun In That?
These people must have just put this tree up for spite. It’s ugly and it’s clear that the cat is not happy about it. At least she can’t climb it now.
They tried a regular tree, but their dog wouldn’t stop eating the branches. They decided a photo of a tree was much better. No cleanup or hassle with storage either. It still looks nice, right?
These people put their tree on the wall to stop their cat from bothering it. They decorated it nicely but they added a fish at the bottom. That seems like a way to tease the cat.
If you think your cat likes our tree, you’ve never see what a fox can do. This fox just wants to hide in the branches. His owners had to attach their tree to the wall to make him stay out of it. Looks like he’s still trying to figure out what happened to it.
These people have a dog that likes to snatch the ornaments off the tree. Luckily, he’s not very tall. They just had to move the decorations up a few feet to where he can’t reach them. Looks great!

15. Don’t Mess With Her Tree
This woman loves her Christmas tree and she spent a lot of time decorating it. She isn’t going to chance the dog tearing it up. She built a fortress around it.
This dog was all excited for his owners to get the tree out so he could tear it down. He’s patiently waiting for it to go up. Maybe his owners will just decorate him instead.
Cats love to bat things that are hanging down. Most of the time they play in trees so they can bat the ornaments around. This cat can’t reach these ornaments but she is still amazed at the site of them.
If you don’t have a curious cat and your dog is short, this is a great way to protect your tree. Just put it up on a stand. This might only work with small trees though.
If you have to worry about a dog and a toddler ruining your tree, this may be your only option. You can still decorate it how you want. It might be hard to pile your presents under it though.
20. The Cat Doesn’t Even Want Any Part Of This
If you don’t want to mess with a tree that your cat is just going to tear down anyway, just make a beer bottle tree. Save up your bottles, decorate them, and show off your tree. It’s kind of neat, right?
If you have a pet that is really bad, you might just want to forget the tree all together. This family decided to just decorate a light. They used a fish to tease the cat.
22. Can’t Cats Get Up There?
Some cats are high jumpers, but these people must feel like their tree is safe on top of the fridge. This might be a cute idea even if you don’t have a cat. You can make your kitchen a little more festive with a fridge tree.
These cats know something is different about the tree this year and they aren’t happy about it. They want to be able to climb it but they can’t. Instead, they are just sitting there waiting on the bottom limbs to grow back. Good luck with that guys.
Why drag a tree inside to decorate it when the cat will just mess it up? Leave it outside and enjoy it from the window. Even the cat likes it.

No cat is going to be able to get to these ornaments. Well, it could always shred the plastic. This also makes it easy to store the tree when the holidays are over.
Sometimes you don’t need a big tree. This little tree wouldn’t stand a chance in a house with a cat. Locking it up in the lantern protects it and makes it a unique decoration.
Cats and dogs don’t usually like vacuum cleaners. This pet owner put them around the tree to scare them off. Maybe they could wrap them in lights to make them more festive?
An artist clearly lives here, and obviously, a destructive pet. The people just made a tree out of cardboard. The cat doesn’t even know it’s there.
