It is natural for us to care for the people who are special in our lives, like our friends, for example.
When it comes to our dear friends, we know we can do anything to keep them safe and help them out. We want them to feel better when they are down, and we always want to spend time with them, too.
Friends are like family and we care for them deeply. As it turns out, humans are not the only ones who are fiercely loyal and caring when it comes to friends. Animals are capable of this kind of love, too.
Meet Kotaro and Hana.
It is quite common for people to have dogs or cats as pets, but for this couple in Japan, having a couple of otters is what they want to have in their home. These otters are no other than the charming Kotaro and the vibrant Hana.
They live with their fur parents in their home in Japan and they are truly having so much fun together. The two otters, in fact, have their own YouTube channel where a lot of fans get to see their activities as they just become their adorable selves.
In one of their videos, the two otters are seen as they play with their favorite toys.
Before Hana was welcomed into their home, Kotaro had one “friend” and that is Chocbop, his toy mouse that makes a sound and can run around for him to chase. The tiny toy is perfect in the otter’s tiny paws and Kotaro always spends time with the toy.
He sleeps in his cage whenever they go out and he would not snooze off if Chocbop was not in his paws. He definitely loves the toy mouse!
After a year, Hana arrived and Chocbop has already lost its “limbs”.
And by limbs, we mean the tiny wheels supporting the toy. Kotaro has found a new playmat in Hana and they probably have forgotten Chocbop for a while.
Years after the toy was first used, another cute tiny toy arrived for the otters to play with. The little pink small toy is quite shiny in the otters’ eyes and Kotaro can’t seem to stop holding it. Everyone was having fun with the new addition to the toy box for Kotaro and Hana, but Chocbop is quietly set aside…until Kotaro finally saw his first friend again.
As Kotaro played with the new toy, he saw a familiar brown thing on the floor. It was Chocbop!
He immediately grabbed the tiny toy mouse and held it in his equally tiny paws. The toy has no wheel anymore after Hana broke it, so how can it go to the bedroom upstairs? Kotaro had the perfect plan to solve this!
He took Chocbop in one of his paws, held it there, and started going up the stairs with only one free paw. Aaw! That was kind of sweet, huh? Everyone online was charmed by the unique reaction of the otter, making them fall more in love with this adorable pet.
Otters in Japan are not unusual.
These pets can be domesticated and while most people think of sea otters, the otters in this country can be domesticated because their nature and habitat can be in both water and dry land.
The laws in Japan pertaining to owning otters are quite strict and the couple has shared this in their video’s caption.
