It’s so sweet to see an animal pet meeting their little ones for the first time.
And the video below is no exception to this rule.

This quote, which was said by Cynthia E. Vernado on Book Reporter, absolutely describes a Scottish cat’s adorable reaction when he first saw his newborn kittens inside a comfy little cradle playing and wriggling on their sides and backs beside their resting mom cat.
Meeting his kittens for the first time has never been easy for a Scottish dad cat.
Papa cat’s first acquaintance with his kittens was captured in this viral video, showing his curious yet exciting reaction to meeting his kids.
He seems amazed and confused while walking towards the seemingly cozy bed where his family is. Since it was his first time seeing other animals, he was not aware of how his kittens would look.
As he gets out of the door, he looks happy but curious at the same time in the first few minutes of the video.
But soon after, his doubt disappeared when his wife cat stretched her body out of the cradle and reached out to him as if saying, “Come, dad, look at your little children. We made them. We’re a family now!”
An adorable family reunion – a sight to behold.
When dad cat recognizes his wife’s scent, he can’t stop kissing his wife.
Their flirting and kissing moments were adorable to see as you could tell a lot of time had passed between them not seeing each other.
Because dad cat was relieved he’d found his mate, it made him regain his composure in front of his kids. He then never hesitated to go near the cradle and sniff each of the little kittens as if trying to make sure that each of them were all his children.
When the getting-to-know-you stage was over, the dad cat seems to be staying close on purpose because he probably knows his family may need him at any moment.
A caring and protective father indeed!
Kissing other cats is a sign that a cat cares.
Cats licking and kissing each other is a sign that they care for each other even if they are siblings or friends, or much more with being mates.
There is a sense of belongingness when they lick and groom each other. Licking and grooming each other is called allogrooming.
Moreover, the bonding between two cats is also a bonding experience. They exchange scents, help each other clean out-of-reach areas, and express how pleased they are with each other’s company.
If you see your cats licking each other, don’t bother them.
Just sit back and enjoy their cuteness to the max. And maybe take pictures and show your friends and followers how adorable they are.
Dad cats are not good in kitten rearing but they can be good fathers.
Although kitten rearing is not a male cat’s strongest suit as they are believed to eat their babies, some father cats can be completely harmless around their newborn kittens.
Just like how the Scottish cat dad behaved in the video.
They sometimes engage in fun-playing sessions with little furballs, sometimes help to groom them, lick them to cleanliness, and protect them if there’s a danger.
These two cats were reunited and it feels so good. And it’s so adorable for us as viewers to watch.
These two are so sweet, and we’re sure they’re going to be great parents. What an adorable pair.
