What is one of the best and cutest jobs you can ever have? If you guessed panda nanny, then you’re right!

Pandas are the cutest animals in the world.

They’re fluffy, huggable, and adorable all at the same time. To be their nanny and take care of them all day is a great privilege. What does a panda nanny do exactly?

What they do may seem simple and mundane but it all contributes to important research work.

A panda nanny is responsible for feeding and playing with pandas. They clean the pandas and their enclosures.

Panda nannies help the pandas and the doctors during veterinary sessions. Most importantly, they’re the ones who supply researchers with information about the pandas.

While these cute panda videos make it look like they have the easiest job in the world, it’s not.

Chunhua Liu, a panda nanny at the China Panda Protection Centre in Sichuan, China, said that pandas are still wild animals.

They’re undomesticated and their play strategies are different from humans.

“Pandas don’t play like humans. Basically, pandas bite and claw each other. Most of the other nannies have been scratched while cuddling pandas – some of them quite seriously,” Chunhia Liu recalled.

What is also true is one panda nanny doesn’t just care for one panda.

They take care of multiple numbers of baby pandas and giant pandas. They need to make sure that they’re all safe from each other, even while sleeping.

One panda nanny has discovered the best way to make sure that baby pandas are separated from each other while sleeping.

She uses a giant metal pole to get access to all the pandas.

In this center, the crib is placed in a way that the nannies don’t have access to all sides of the crib. When some of the pandas reach the far end of the crib, it is hard to reach out to grab them.

If they did it by hand, they will end up disturbing the sleeping pandas and waking them up. Worse, the disturbed pandas could accidentally scratch the nanny.

By using that pole, she’ll be able to slide the pandas toward her so she can easily rearrange them on the crib.

Some of the viewers joked that they now know the best way to get a panda.

“Ever since I was little, I always dreamed of stealing a panda. Now I know how to do it, thanks,” Johann Zuri said.

“Many thanks for the tip. Next video please explain how to get [the] stolen panda safely home in my luggage,” Mme Curiese added.

Although it might seem like an easy job, it’s very routine work.

That’s why these places are looking for applicants who have lots of patience, are committed to their work, and are passionate about panda conservation and research.

It seems like there are a lot of people like that because, for every job opening, they get at least 40 applicants for it.
