Few things are worse than losing a beloved pet. Even when taking them to a veterinarian, sometimes, there’s nothing that can be done to save them. That kind of situation is gut-wrenching. It’s during a time like this that you need a lot of support. And one dog owner got just that but from an unexpected person.

Opening your heart

Cindy Siddon works at the Clinton Pet Vet clinic in New York as a receptionist. But she’s also an advocate for animals, which includes running a program to find dogs forever homes. With all her involvement, she understands how hard it is for someone to open their heart to a pet that’s facing challenges.

Relaying a story

Cindy has a lot of stories to tell but one, in particular, stands out the most. It started when she adopted a gorgeous Pitbull by the name of Rizz. But it wasn’t long after she brought him home that she received devastating news…he had bone cancer that had spread.

Doing everything possible

In an effort to try to save her precious fur baby, her vet had to amputate one of Rizz’s legs. He also underwent chemotherapy. And thanks to Clinton Pet Vet, which offers both traditional and holistic medicine, he received the best care available.

Making a new friend

Unfortunately, Rizz experienced some bad side effects from the medication. But while being treated, a vet tech named Taylor Calhoun grew quite fond of the pup. Before long, they had formed a special bond.

Love and care

Although the entire staff at Clinton Pet Vet is caring, Taylor has an extra spot of kindness in her heart. Her compassion toward Rizz was undeniable. It was as though the two had known each other forever.

A sweet moment

One day, Cindy went to work as usual. As she entered the break room, she wasn’t one bit surprised at what she witnessed. There on the floor was Taylor snuggled up with Rizz. They were both sound asleep.

Heartwarming

Cindy was moved that someone could love Rizz as much as she did. So, she wanted to capture the moment, which she did by snapping several photos. This would provide her with something that she could always look back on and smile.

Rizz’s health

As for Rizz, he received weekly transfusions. Every Thursday, Taylor was there to provide Cindy’s pup with love and support. And if time allowed, the two of them would enjoy a nap. Being so sick, Taylor’s presence was a comfort to Rizz.

The animal whisperer

There’s no question that Taylor has a unique way with animals of all kinds. Whether she’s providing care to Rizz, another dog, a cat, or even a horse, she seems to have a deep understanding of what they’re going through. For Rizz, this vet tech was exactly what he needed while going through a difficult time.

RIP

Sadly, Rizz didn’t pull through. But he crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully with both Cindy and Taylor right there by his side. If it hadn’t been for a vet tech with a big heart, the experience would’ve been much different.

This goes to show that there are wonderful people who provide veterinarian care. And if you ever have a sick animal, hopefully, you’ll get someone like Taylor to help you through the situation.
