He's clearly not a fan of the "V" word.

Dogs might not be able to talk – but they certainly know how to communicate.

Have you ever stopped to think about how different words can literally change the way that we feel inside our body? For instance, if someone was to say the words “oozing chocolate cake,” we’re certain that you would get hungry.

Then there are those taboo words related to all the scary things in life like death, illness, and debt, which no one wants to talk about. These words will likely make you feel anxious or sad.

Every single word, no matter what it is, generates some kind of emotional response in our bodies.

Humans are the only living beings on this planet who have generated such an extensive vocabulary. But with that being said, while animals don’t speak the same language as us, they certainly learn to understand words over time.

And just like us humans, words can evoke an emotional response from our pets, too.

Any dog owner will tell you that words like “walkies” and “din dins” will get an immediate reaction from your pet. But on the other end of the scale, words like “the vets,” will also get a reaction — and this time, it won’t be so good.

Our pets really do hate the vets.

No matter how sociable, friendly, or relaxed your dog is, chances are, they’re going to absolutely hate the vets. No good can ever come out of a visit to the vets. They get poked and prodded by needles, their claws get snipped away, and don’t even get us started on those trips to the vets when they’ve eaten something that they shouldn’t have.

Those vomiting injections are not fun.

What’s more, the vet’s office is a place that’s absolutely heaving with other anxious pets, and there are so many new noises and smells and things to look at that it’s enough to drive your pet into a sensory overload.

So when Enzo the German Shepherd realized that he was in the parking lot of the vets, it was time for instant panic.

Enzo had been enjoying his car ride with the expectation that he was simply going to the dog park like usual. But as the roads began to look depressingly familiar, he realized where he was really going.

And as they pulled up into the parking lot, his worst fears were confirmed.

As reality dawns, Enzo begins to freak out.

The poor pooch feels as if he’s been tricked. He stares out of each window as if he can’t quite believe where he is. But deep down, Enzo knows EXACTLY where they’re parked. He is at *gulp* the vet!

Enzo begins to whine in the most dramatic of fashions. He has no idea what this appointment can possibly entail, and secretly hopes that his owners hadn’t caught him sneakily eating food out of the trash can earlier. He thought he’d got away with that.

Luckily, it turns out that Enzo’s appointment is just a routine check-up.

“Enzo is going to the vet for a check up. His family recently moved from a northern state to a southern state, his allergies did not appreciate that at all. But all is well with Enzo now!” Enzo’s dad tells us in the YouTube caption.

So poor Enzo is getting all worked up about nothing.

The poor pooch’s dramatic reaction did give us a giggle – but we can’t help feeling glad that he was only at the vet’s for a nice, easy check-up. We hope this helped him to realize that the vet isn’t all that bad.
