Their efforts in saving as many animals as possible are very commendable.

And while it’s heartbreaking to see dogs and cats in such bad shape, it’s also heartwarming when they finally find a family who loves them.

Millions of animals enter the shelter every year.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, around 6.3 million cats and dogs enter the shelter annually, or 17,260 animals a day.

However, only 4.1 million get adopted, leaving more than two million pets without a home.

That’s why animal rescue shelters utilize all possible ways to reach out to potential adopters.

Social media is the most accessible and convenient way to inform people about pets needing a home.

So, it’s always good news if a rescued animal goes viral because there’s a higher chance it will get adopted sooner.

This was the case for Bow, who captured millions of hearts.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston visited NBC 10’s The Hub Today and brought Bow along with Jacob and George, who are also up for adoption.

They do this to promote animal adoption, especially the ones in their shelter waiting for their forever homes.

After all, television has a broad reach, and they might get better chances of a positive turnout.

However, it wasn’t the TV coverage that had people gushing over Bow. It was a TikTok video.

NBC10 Boston posted a video of Bow in the arms of their TV anchor Colton Bradford.

It seemed like an ordinary day at the office for Colton and his co-anchor, Melody Mendez, without knowing that this live broadcast would earn them millions of views all because of a puppy named Bow.

Bow fell asleep in Colton’s arms as Melody gave an update about the Stanley Cup.

The anchor was carrying the pup, still awake at first.

A few seconds after looking at the teleprompter and glancing at the dog, he saw her eyes were already closed.

He even double-checked to see if what he saw was real!

“OH MY GOSH! SHE’S ASLEEP!” Colton mouthed in surprise.

He stood there, mouth agape, and still couldn’t believe the tiny pup had fallen asleep in his arms.

Melody went on with the Bruins update until Colton shushed.

She glanced, and both talked in hushed voices saying, “The baby is sleeping.”

Who wouldn’t fall for that cutie pie? Bow, not Colton. Sorry, Colton.

Napping on live TV seemed the best way to get adopted because many people asked about her.

She was adopted in a few days, and while others felt sad that they couldn’t adopt Bow, the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s staff said those who failed to adopt Bow adopted other dogs in their shelter instead.

What an effective promotional stint!

NBC10 Boston uploaded this video on their TikTok account, and it now has 4.1 million views and almost 600k likes!
