When you adopt a pet, they become a cherished member of your family. But, as we all know, family members can have disagreements too! When you’re always together, it’s impossible to get along all the time. Little disagreements are bound to arise, but the important thing is how you work through them.

Ralphie, a gorgeous brown Newfoundland dog, had been having a disagreement with his mama, Bee.

It’s unclear what she had done to upset the furry pup, but his expression says it all. Perhaps she refused to throw a ball for a game of fetch; maybe she switched up his dinner food. Regardless of the crime in question, Ralphie clearly wants an apology.

The adorable scene, which was captured on video and later uploaded online, shows Ralphie sitting stiff-backed beside his owner. He stares blankly ahead, refusing to acknowledge her existence despite her encouraging pleas.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” she asks him.

“Are you mad at me?”

Even with Bee’s prodding, Ralphie’s a tough nut to crack. He seems to have mastered the silent treatment, answering her question without saying a word. “Did I do something to you?” she asks. He meets her eyes with a subtle glare, before turning forward with a blank face.

The poor pup is so upset he doesn’t even want to look at her He deserves an apology— and he wants one now.

“I’m sorry,” Bee finally tells Ralphie, hoping to make peace.

And with only those two words, everything is suddenly forgiven. Upon hearing Bee’s apology, Ralphie snuggles his face into her lap.

He then climbs on top of his mama, wrapping her in a giant hug. See it in the video below.

The Newfoundland’s shifting reaction is precious. However, the entire breed is known for their sweet disposition. Newfoundlands love children and make great family pets. With their pleasant personalities and giant bodies, Dog Time describes them “big, lovable teddy bears.”

When Bee and her husband Josh were looking for a pet to add to their family, they needed one that would be okay with their four sons. Upon hearing how sweet and friendly Newfoundland dogs can be, they adopted Ralphie specifically for that reason. Now, Bee describes him as her most affectionate “son”‘:

“Always ready to cuddle or give kisses or lick you in the face, he is a true companion. He thrives off belly rubs and kisses!”

“He’s got the most telling eyes… some days they tell of his guilt, but most days they tell us how much he loves us.”
