There’s one holiday around the world that most people come together to celebrate. That holiday is Christmas. Even if you don’t celebrate it most people can’t help but get wrapped up in the Christmas spirit. And as a magical time of the year, you never know what you’ll experience. One woman had something happen that took her by complete surprise. At first, she was shocked but that was soon followed by a feeling of sweetness, reflection, and joy.
Christmas time in Brazil
Just as people in America do, a lot of Brazilians spend the Christmas holiday with family and friends. They shop for gifts, decorate trees, and bake sweets. But some individuals enjoy visiting nativity scenes. After all, Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
Out for a stroll
One woman by the name of Nadia Rosangella had gone out for a walk. She loved looking at the lights and decorations that seemed to be everywhere. But on this particular evening, she saw a nativity scene. Drawn in by it, she decided to get a closer look.
A famous scene to remember
Although you can find a broad range of nativity scenes, they’re all pretty much the same. That includes Joseph, Mary, the Three Wisemen, shepherds, and of course, sheep, cows, and other animals. But the most important aspect is baby Jesus as he lies in a manger.
An unexpected sight
So, as Nadia gets closer to a particular nativity scene, it didn’t seem right. At first, she wasn’t sure what it was but something seemed off. As she neared the display, that’s when she noticed it. Baby Jesus was missing.
Something inside the manger
Rather than baby Jesus, she spotted something completely different. There, lying on a blanket placed inside of the manger was the most precious little puppy. Whether he was cold or just tired, he found a perfect place to take a nap.
Taking photos
As adorable as the puppy was combined with the innocence of the situation, Nadia knew she had to capture the moment. So, she took pictures. Once she shared them online, it didn’t take long for the story to go viral.
A young pup
This dog was still so young. Her initial reaction was that this pup was abandoned. That tugged on her heartstrings even more. As she looked at him all curled up, she felt so bad for the puppy.
Spreading the word
Unfortunately, Nadia couldn’t take the sweet puppy home. But she hoped that as part of sharing the photos, perhaps someone would stop by to get it. Her wish turned into a wonderful Christmas miracle when a young woman read the story and went to retrieve the pup.
Finding it a home
Instead of sleeping alone in a nativity scene, this cute puppy has a home. And considering his precious face, it’s no wonder the woman immediately fell in love with him. Now, he could sleep in a house with a comfortable bed surrounded by people who would provide care and safety.
Comments flooded in
Once Nadia updated the story to let people know that someone had gone to get the puppy, everyone was elated. Soon, comments from readers began to pour in. One poster said, “Being compassionate to animals seems to be in the true spirit of Christmas.” And they’re right.
Another individual commented “Omg! This is the sweetest story with a happy ending! Thank God there are humans with big hearts out there who were not indifferent to this.”
We are so thankful Nadia interfered to find the pup a home. In the end, that’s what the Christmas spirit is all about.
