Remember the days of show-and-tell? If you were lucky, you could get a relative to bring your pet to school, so you could proudly show it off to the other students.

Well, they don’t have show-and-tell in college. And you’re really not supposed to let your furbaby tag along to the lectures.

One university student in China decided to bend the rules for her cat. Now, footage of the kitty secretly hanging out in class is going viral!

Ms. Wen is a resident of Xi’an who’s well aware of her university’s rules. However, she faced a heart-tugging dilemma on a Friday morning while getting ready for class.

Wen’s lovable feline, Ba Dun, didn’t want her to leave. The one-year-old Munchkin cat was being all snuggly with his owner, which made it difficult for her to just walk out the door.

She told MailOnline:

“Ba Dun kept cuddling up to my leg and looking really sad because he wanted me to stay with him.”

Wen was late for class, so she had to make a decision.

While most pet owners would simply kiss their furbaby goodbye and tell them, “I’ll be back,” Wen couldn’t resist Ba Dun’s cuteness. So, she scooped him up to join her at school.

Not many cats can say they’ve been to college. But this kitty can!

Without anyone knowing, Ms. Wen hid him inside her school desk. Munchkin cats have short legs, perhaps why it seems like he was cozy wozy laying in the cubby!

How’d he do in class?

Turns out, Ba Dun is a pro when it comes to school etiquette because he was quiet as a mouse. Wen told MailOnline:

“He was being really good and didn’t make any sounds.”

She couldn’t resist filming her adorable cat inside her desk.

Although Wen had to be hush-hush about Ba Dun being in class, it didn’t stop her from sharing it with the internet. Wen posted the footage on the Chinese social media platform Douyin (which is like TikTok) where it quickly racked up millions of views.

The lecturer didn’t know there was an animal in class that day – that is, until Wen “let the cat out of the bag” online!

People around the world have fallen in love with the cat and the funny story.

Bored Panda shared some of the comments that were left. One person wrote:

“If I was the teacher I would take it from the student and tell them they can have it back at the end of the school year.”

Another commented:

“I’d allow it. Sometimes you need the support and comfort of your fuzzy friends.”

Someone else could actually relate to the story:

“I used to take my mouse to school in my pocket. I had a lovely set up for him in my school desk.”

For those who are curious, Ba Dun’s name loosely means “eight meals,” and he earned it because of his huge appetite. His owner explained:

“He could definitely eat eight meals every day if I let him.”

Realistically, it’s probably a good thing she doesn’t let him eat so many meals though – or how would he be able to fit so purrfectly in her desk?
