Nothing comes between a mother and her children.
Every mom out in the world knows that this is simply a fact. If something is to suddenly endanger your child, your maternal instinct kicks in and you everything in your control to protect your child. There’s no “but’s,” you do whatever you can to make it happen because your child is your everything.
The connection between a child and their parent is special and unlike any other relationship. They have a unique bond that’s different, and not something you can get from a friend or even another family member.
This brave mother hen was living on a farm in Kursk, Russia along with a variety of other animals.
One day, a bunch of sheep began to approach the hen’s baby chicks and the mother hen did not like it one bit. When you watch the video, you will see that, naturally, the hen was significantly smaller than the sheep, but that did not stop her from going into mama mode.
Despite her small stature, she became super protective of her babies. So much so, that the people who live on the farm with the animals took notice of her sudden behavior and whipped out their phones to film it.
The mama actually really pushed her limits too, as she decided to charge at the sheep. Any time they would come near her babies, she would run toward them and attempt to push them out of the way.
It’s actually pretty adorable.
Her little baby chicks all stayed huddled up together in a group as their mama took care of them. They were babies, so they obviously didn’t really know how to help, but they stayed back and let their mama do her thing.
If anyone has ever thought of chickens as cowards… Well, this video will certainly change their mind. This mama chicken is anything but! She saw a massive animal coming toward her and instead of running the opposite way, she tried to take him on all on her own.
All the chicks seem to be safe, so we’ll just be here laughing at how adorable and intense this mama is!
This story reminds us of that other time when a mama bird dove in front of a moving tractor just to protect her eggs. Another time when mothers proved to be so selfless and instinctual.
When a big tractor was coming right toward the mama and her nest, we see footage of her charging out to stop him right before he reaches her.
She flapped her wings to get the tractor driver’s attention and hopefully stop him. This all happened just moments before he was about to hit too, which makes it even scarier.
It was clearly a dangerous situation for the bird but just goes to show again that a mother will truly do anything for her babies.
When the farmer saw the bird, he finally stopped and she and her baby birds were saved. Mama bird to the rescue, always!
Luckily, this one farmer in particular had a very kind soul, and he stopped in his tracks as soon as he noticed the bird. Then he replanned his route so that he wouldn’t hit her and her family.
What have we learned here today? That mothers are everything! They will totally put themselves at risk for their own children, and it’s beautiful.
